I think I got lime juice one my Ruger MkIII Target because now there is a dime sized spot where the finish/blue is gone! I am not sure what happened. Yesterday I went shooting, set the gun in its holster on my nightstand and during the day I think it got something on it. I only say lime juice cause there was a squeezed piece of lime on my nightstand as well. What should I do about it? Will it cause it to rust faster in that spot? Kinda sucks since it is pretty new. And no id dont think this is a reason to get a MkII, but it sure is a good one to go stainless.

Ok first don't do tequila shots next to your pistol. ;)

Get a gun blue touch up pen. It won't be perfect but it will blend better then a unfinished spot.

True, I should be me careful with my limes, I can only assume that the citric acid srewed it up a little. Oh well, it is going to be with me for a long long time, I guess it wont look new and perfect forever. I try to be really careful with my guns, what a crummy way to mess it up. At least it wont effect the way it works. BTW, it is only a month and a week old.:banghead: Is this blueing pen available at wally world or local guns stores? Or will I have to order it online?

Also, is there a chance it wasnt anything I did, possibly a defect in manufacture that would be warrantied? Does this happen to Rugers? I never heard of it if so.

Well Rem870

you said you try to be careful with your guns but it sounds like the problem is failing to be careful with your limes. :neener:
