here are a few pics of some of my favorite ARs/SRs

My KAC SR15 w/ KAC triple tap brake and Swaro z6i 1-6x EE glass
(crazy glass has enough eye relief that i can deploy my rear BUIS)
this is easily my favorite AR at the moment

My old 3gun carbine (4 lbs)
17" carbon fiber barrel, titanium comp, carbon fiber upper/lower receivers, aluminum bolt carrier, JP trigger, clark custom carbon fiber float tube that i cut down
got around 1500 rnds on it but i only shoot it in matches and 1 day at a carbine class. i have the adjustable gas block tuned where it doesn't hold the bolt open on last round, but i've never had a stoppage in a match/class

My new 3gun carbine (ok this one isn't dirty since i'm not finished building yet)
I really love the magpul foliage green duracoat, but it looks awful with my l33t camera skillz
18" compass lake barrel w/custom profile, colt m4 upper, tac innovations lower, white oak LPK, no trigger yet but thinking i'll try the new wilson combat non-adjustable

My 1986 era full-auto Essential Arms lower with Bushmaster conversion, 12" carbon fiber barrel (rock creek blank), KAC TT brake, micro T1 and Larue po-boy magnifier, geissele SSF trigger
I've shot this in several matches as well (semi only, obviously).
also have a dedicated 22lr upper with 8" barrel and YHM mite suppressor. it's unbelievably fun.

Mk11 mod0

Noveske Magpul Limited Edition (from the first batch) with NF 1-4x
shot this in a few matches. i really like the way it handles. feels lighter than it looks, but the bolt won't hold open, which is very frustrating considering what i paid for it. so it stays in the safe until i take a notion to work on it.

My RRA NM rebarreled by white oak. i legged out this year with this gun.
(when you've got so much tape from camp perry and regionals, that you've got to drop your trigger guard to move the trigger, it makes you feel like you've accomplished something)

an oldie-but-goodie. pushing 20k rnds on this old friend. RRA lower, CMT upper, denny's guns recon barrel, Smith/fisher enterprises can, RRA 2-stage trigger, YHM forearm, M93b stock
rracmta.jpg

saving the best for last, SR25 with KAC suppressor, 24" barrel, geissele SSA trigger, note the new magpul magazine

thanks,

CMP, i haven't actually had a chance to shoot the mags. The ammo that i handload for the SR25 has an OAL that is just a wee bit longer than the pmag will handle. So once I shoot all that up, then i'll load some more a little shorter and try the new mags. Apparently, max OAL for KAC mags is 2.840, PMAGs 2.820, DPMS mags 2.800 and my ammo is 2.830". learn something every day, huh

Wow, what a collection. I will also be interested in hearing how those PMAGs work out. Kinda surprised to hear about the issue with your Noveske, would have thought for those bucks they would have kinks like that worked out.

How are the carbon fiber barrels working for you? I had two myself and couldn't get better than 4 MOA at 100yds with match ammo in either one so I sent them back. Miss the light weight though.

My barrels are working great. As you can see neither are on precision guns. One is on a machine gun and the other on a carbon fiber receiver I can flex with my hand. I can hold an inch at 50 yrds with a micro t1 sighting in

However I definitely do not recommend buying anything from ABS since he stole my money and failed to deliver the third barrel I tried to buy and hasn't returned phone calls for two years

That is a great collection of eye candy Taliv.

It is cool to see how rifles are set up by those who REALLY use them.

I'm not in that group yet, so it is very informative for me, thanks!

those who REALLY use them.

thanks, but just to be clear, i just shoot competitively and am in no way affiliated with any LEO or gov groups. it's a hobby for me, not a job.

the first, second and fifth pics all show the knight's triple tap brake. the top two pics show the original finish which was shiny and the 5th pic has some sort of matte black finish.

but to tell you the truth, blackops, it's not like i planned it that way. (except for the service rifle, which has rules that dictate the configuration) I started with one config and there were things i didn't like about it so i built another gun a little different, then there were things i didn't like about that so i built another... it's sort of evolved.

what i'm trying to say, is that if i were starting from scratch today, i wouldn't buy all those rifles again for every purpose. i'd only buy a pair of the KAC SR15 at the top.

zero, wow, i had no idea they were a regular stocking item now (not that i'm in the market for more...). i think they only made like 50 or 100 or something in the first batch. i got one, and then later got one of the black ones. great brakes. effective and not nearly as obnoxious to other shooters and don't raise as much dust as some.

taliv, outstanding post there and what a superb collection but what's up with the blue match AR. It kind of looks like one of those non-functioning force on force training rifles.

I've put over 350 rounds through my POF P308 using 10 different PMAGs and they're excellent with zero feeding issues unlike the DPMS mags that I have. One of my shooting buddies has a Knight's SR25 and a LaRue OBR and bought a bunch of PMAGs. He didn't like the look of them in either rifle so he sold them to me .... I have no such problem with the aesthetics and they just work so it's a win-win.

:)

That blue carbon gun is a BEAUTY! Shame it's blue and not raw carbon. That's like painting gold a different color. Why not use another cheaper composite or fiberglass or similar if you will just paint over the beautiful weaves?

One question, which this is why I'm making this post, but why would you need to tune the gas block to not hold the bolt open? Generally it's the bolt catch that holds the bolt open, not the gas system. Not that I'm questioning the legitness of the gun, I'm just curious to the mechanical aspects of it. I like seeing people go out of the ordinary on things and do cool stuff, and it's even better when they get to shed light onto some that aren't in the know. Me specifically on this matter :)
Btw, do you have any more pics of the gun? I'd definitely like to see the upper/lower's interior. Very curious to how it was made. Guessing foam mold underneath? Or wood or something else. Foam seems to make the most sense to me, but heck, I have seen some people do crazy stuff with no interior mold to build off of with carbon. I def envy anyone who has built anything that looks spot on with carbon. Patience, skill, and time consuming.

To add (man, I think your the first person I have seen with so many match guns. I've never really paid much attention to match shooting, but now, I may have to look into it a bit more. Any pointers on good forums or sites specifically for ar match shooting?)
