I don't have anything against races, but races are not equal. Blacks are better then whites at certain things, asians are better then whites at certain things, it's just how the world works. Physical differences = Mental differences.

Gun control has always been about one group of people trying to control and exercise power over another group of people.

I think that today there are many with good intentions that think that gun control would stop violence. The fact that if there were no guns, the physically stronger and younger would do greater harm on the weak seems to escape their vision. But,I don't know that today's gun control activist are trying to control any group.

Well said!

Gun control has always been about one group of people trying to control and exercise power over another group of people. The groups in power and the groups they tried to control have been defined in different ways at different times. Whether is was knights and peasants, Protestants and Catholics, masters and slaves, or rich and poor, it has always been about one group trying to disarm another to gain advantage.

The question is whether society can rise above this longstanding tendency and allow everyone to enjoy the right of self-protection.

Well said gc70!

Even the most sincere proponents of non-violence are trying to force their beliefs and practices on others when they advocate gun control.

I always find the sincerely non violent anti gun zealots funny, I usually just give them a couple Gandhi quotes and they shut up pretty quickly.

Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest.

and of course the one in my comment.

Ironically, Gandhi was also racist against blacks... the double take I usually get out of that one is priceless.

Mannix,

Can you tell me where you saw that quote in your sig?

Thanks.

Edited to add:

Never mind, I found it.

On any given day, one out of four black males are in prison or on parole.

Somebody mentioned St. Louis and Atlanta being shooting zones... St. Louis is regularly the second or third most dangerous city in the USA. Atlanta is in the top 20 on a regular basis. For a few years, St. Louis was number one.

You supplying a link to a white supremacist website does not support the contention that skin color predisposes criminality. I wish I hadn’t started this thread. It was supposed to be about the origins of gun control in the south, and the parallels to modern gun control.

I’m sorry, but I’ve flown Starlifters with black Americans for over 17 years, none of whom tried to kill or rob me. I was excited to learn of a forum called The High Road because I thought it was about responsible firearms ownership, I’m sorely disappointed to read some of the racist crap from some of its participants.

Moderators, please make it stop.
