Discouraged--squib on first magazine of reloads

Tex,
That's pretty much what I've done. I deliberately chose Blue Dot for my first powder with .45acp, since it's high-volume enough that I would be able to easily see a double charge. (I'd like to go to Titegroup when I get more proficient.)

I weighed about 100 of those reloads on my RCBS 5-0-2 scale, and the most common weight was 330-331 grains. Highest was 323, which is still OK since the Blue Dot range for 230gr FMJ-RN is 8.3 to 9.2 (Lyman.)

I decided that anything under a half-charge was probably dangerous (I've been warned about flash-overs with light charges), so I set a minimum cut-off of 327 grains, and weighed the other 90 as 'go' or 'no go' with the scale at 327. I have 60 bullets to pull. One of them was REALLY suspicious--came in at 260 grains, which I'm still trying to understand.

I am definitely not taking these particular reloads to the IDPA on Saturday, and will follow the advice to slow-fire them at the range. In fact, I'll probably hold off on shooting them at all until my squib rod kit comes from Brownell's (they shipped it yesterday.)
