Diversity vs consolidation: an internal debate

I am standardizing all of my guns to 9mm as of right now, though I will get some .45 ACP guns in the future. I plan to do the same with my rifles when I have extra cash to get an AR-15 rifle. I will also do the same with a shotgun and stick with 12 gauge.

If I consolidated I would have had to turn down several firearms I enjoy just because they don't fit what I am supposedto buy. I buy for enjoyment and for self defense though. If your goal is self defense and general SHTF prepardness your goals are different so you would probably be wise to consolidate. Good luck picking everything. There is a lot of variety out there but you should be able to find somehing agreeable for everything.

I love my kids, and I love my firearms. I would never sell my kids.
And my firearms never break the rules, talk back, sneak around, get belligerent, tell me they hate me, crash cars, get tickets or bring home boys. Why oh why would I ever consider selling them?

I'm a fan of consolidation of calibers, not of firearms in general. I'd like to have as much ammo for any given firearm as possible, and the most affordable way to do that is to have more firearms of common calibers.

My S&W K22 is going to be complimented with a Henry soon (Ever since I got my Red Ryder as a kid, I've been in love with lever action rifles). Then I'm looking at a 9mm revolver to compliment my CPX-1.
