DNZ Deadnuts Scope Mounts

Anyone familiar with these mounts? What has been your experience with them?

I just finished building out a Rem 700 SPS in .308 for a friend and decided to use these mounts as a test...I mean, why would I do it on one of mine? Just kidding, I told him if they were junk I would buy them from him and he could get new bases and rings.

I called DNZ to find out a couple of things and it turns out that they have a long range models that come with 10, 20 and 30 MOA.

Just wondering if anyone here has used them and what you think about them. The price is great for a one piece milled aluminum base and rings...but what is your experience over time.

Yep, had one on a Savage VLP I once owned, and liked it so much I got another for the Howa 1500 I now shoot. Excellent workmanship and quality. I know some are leery of one-piece mounts in terms of alignment, but the DNZ product has yet to disappoint me in this or any other respect. Had the one on my Savage about a year, the one now for about six months, no change in either in POI with handmade ammo. Highly recommended!

I don't think there is a better way to go than a one piece mount...period. I know that there are different schools of thought on this, but IMO you have much more possibility of misalignment with a two piece base than with a one piece and with the DNZ product you add in that the rings are part of the base...can it get any better?

So far my only "issue" is that they rings for my one inch tube did not seat completely together, which I suppose is not an "issue," but in my opinion if you did not gap them I feel like it could bind the tube and put undue pressure on one side of the scope. Anyone have any comment concerning that?

All rings that I've ever seen require a gap.

I have had a gap on both mounts. I was very careful to keep this gap equal on both front and back rings, and used the instructional video on mounting scopes found on Midway's site as a guide. Just be careful not to overtighten anything and you should be OK.

I just put one on a Savage Model 16 .308 and it was the easiest scope mount ever. It is an a incredible product and I got the reccomendation from a search here on The High Road. I bore sighted it and it was off 1" low and 3'' to the right. My rifle with these mounts are dead-on accurate and I could not be happier.

I have one on my .308. The concept of integrated one piece base and rings was very appealing. I haven't had any trouble with it yet, but I've only had the rig for about 6 months.

If you don't mind the hideous looks of the DNZ, they are good mounts! I heard the oringinal name of these mounts were 'Donuts'....but it was thought 'Deadnutz' might be more inline for a optic mount...just kidding! hehehehe

They do resemble 'donuts' around the scope tube though...!

We use a lot of them, never a problem!

I thougth they looked awful at first, but I kinda like them on my rifle after I mounted my scope. I will use more of these mounts.
