Thinking about using the DNZ game reaper to mount a a leupold vx3 4.5-14x40 on my rem 700 7mm rem mag, and wondering if the mount would stand up to the recoil. Seen some good things about them but the rings only having 2 screws (one on each side) kinda makes me wonder if they are up to the challenge of a 7mm

You may also look into if the mount gives you enough room for eye relief. I recently mounted a VX2 3-9x40 and needed an extension ring to get the proper eye relief.

I used a DMZ mount on my Remington 700. Eye relief was good. They will certainly handle the recoil. Good advice posted above to ensure you have the right eye relief.

DNZ makes some of the best mounts out there. Recoil won't be a problem. 7mm mag recoil is almost exactly the same as 30-06 and no more than some of the ultralight rifles in 308.

Talley one pieces are pretty awesome to, ive had one rifle with the dnz, but now have a few rifles with the Talley. Both are good, just seem to like the Talleys more. Just preference.
You'd be fine either way.

Yup on hunting rifles DNZ game reapers are all I use. They won't give you issues. I had them on a 300 WM and after 150 rounds they were still zero'd

I tried a set of Leupold rings/bases and didn't get the eye relief I needed for a VX1. Went to the DNZ Game Reaper next, and it was a huge improvement. Yes, they only have one screw on each side of the ring, but their ring screws are much longer than any other brand I've seen. You're getting a lot of thread contact. Seems to work very well.

Both my Marlins like the DNZ Game Reapers, the bigger brother is a 45/70, not exactly a soft rifle, it put's up 1" to 1.5" groups at 100 yards with Hornady Leverlution 305 gr.

I use The Reaper on a Remington 700 Brown Precision 8.5 pound scoped .375 H&H and it went to South Africa ok. I also use it on a Winchester 1999 Model 70 Ulitimate Classic in .270 WSM and that weighs 24 .oz less and is my go to hunting rifle in California. I chose it because I feel it is overall the most rugged mount there is. One piece has a lot going for it as does the hitensile aluminum and the large and LONG stress proof steel screws in the rings.

thanks guys i believe ill be going with the game reaper tactical, just for the extra piece of mind of having two screws on each side of the rings. really appreciate the feedback

Huh? Folks have been mounting scopes to rifles using two screw rings for decades without issue. Don't you only have four holes in the receiver??? The ring screws are probably larger and stronger than those that attach the mount to the receiver.

DNZ makes very good, very strong mounts.

Do you think a 7mmMag rifle puts more stress on mounts than a .480 revolver (w/two screw Leupold rings)?
