Do automatics make a difference (TACTICALLY SPEAKING)

Hello freinds.

Today I am thinking about what difference automatics make in a tactical situation.
I think penetration is key, for instance shooting through a wall when the bad guy is behind it. Another key factor I think is vehicle stopping power. A selective fire would probably stop a vehicle much faster and much more effectively that a semi auto.
