With no idea how to find a tracking number (it's not in our email), can at least watch for the two different paint jobs on the trucks tomorrow.

When the CMP ships on a Tuesday, does the box normally arrive the next afternoon, or morning, for example from Anniston to Cordova/Memphis?

and you better be home to sign for it. they won't leave it on the porch.

there was no way i could be home at the time of delivery, so i had them hold it at their location and i picked it up at the counter.

Mine came FedEx overnight.

I called in sick that day so I could be at the front door when the white van showed up! :D

Right, all rifles from CMP come FedEx overnight and an adult must sign for it.

I believe if you have it held at the FedEx facility, the package's recipient is the only one that can pick it up but I have slept since then. If you have it held, check on that if you are thinking of sending someone else to pick up the rifle.

And, you can be sure, most of the folks at the FedEx facility know what is in the box.

Yup,Fedex, although I'll never experience it again in NJ. Politicians almost soiled themselves here a few years ago when they realized rifles were being delivered to people's homes. Now we need to go thru FFL.

I took that day off from work and marathoned Band of Brothers while I waited. :D

Rifle came FedEx Express and the ammo can and bayonet came FedEx Ground on a different truck, same day. Both came early in the morning.

Better than Christmas.

Mine came Fedex and while waiting for it, the online status changed to "Delivered", but it wasn't to me.

When I called Fedex and told them they lost a rifle, they scurried around and found it had been left at the LGS by mistake. They just assumed it was one of theirs.

Thanks for the responses. Both of us were home today, and my wife suggested sticking a note on the front door:
"Keep ringing the bell, and knock loudly". The cheap new door bells are not loud. The rifle arrived today, as stated by the Anniston staff last Saturday for a Tuesday shipping when I bought it in the Anniston store. They might not have any Service G on the racks for quite a while.

By the way, they are "5,000 rifles behind because of ammo orders", they said.

vtail: I'm glad that Fedex scrambled to locate and retrieve the long box for you!
Fred Smith and some original Dassault Falcon etc pilots were US Marines. Most of the staff seem to be very focused on their mission.
