Decided on a new carry gun a couple of weeks ago. Ordered a P365 Sig from Davidson's and it arrived at the Fedex hub in Memphis on the 22nd. Couldn't find any tracking and waited with the tracking reading delayed. It came in today, the 28th. The Express driver told me that they were covered up in Memphis with few workers. Said he had several items on his truck that had shipped as early as the 10th. I have a nice Kimber 22 mag going South Dakota tomorrow and you can bet your last dollar that it doesn't go Fedex.

Presently FedEx is at the bottom of the list. Logistics is a big part of the business I am in. I have had several shipments go FedEx ground end up being multi modal from Illinois to California - 20+ days. I recently had a package delivered to the same office I shipped it from. Several promises that a human would call….good luck with that. Your milage may vary.

The picture below was in Salt Lake City:

I sort of had that happen recently with UPS. I shipped it from a UPS Store and it ended up at my house. I took a picture of the label on the box before I left as this is what It seems like we all have to do now so I know the shipping address was right. A few days later I got it on my doorstep with a different shipping label on it.

I'm still waiting for USPS to deliver a set of coveralls that I ordered from Academy sports on New Years Eve.
They were sent from Academy's warehouse on Jan 3. Based on the tracking info, the package got to the USPS distribution center 45miles from my house and disappeared.
The thing that ticked me off is that when I submitted a lost package inquiry to USPS they just repeated the info that had already showing in the tracking number info for two weeks. Thanks for not even bothering to look.

Academy refunded my money on the item (props to them) so at least if it ever does show up I'll get it for free. It was a clearance item and sold out so they couldn't send another set.

Frankly I've had issues with all 3 of the major carriers in the last year.

My problem hasn't been with the carriers but the shippers. Many, still, claim that Covid is bringing their business' to their knees. I say BS. When you can order two in-stock items and eight days later it's still being processed something is wrong in this Country.

Either the workforce is becoming lazy, uncaring or is just plain stupid. Yes, this effects the transportation industry too but the whole system has broken down. There is no effective management anymore. Perhaps the leaders have become lazy, uncaring or is just plain stupid also.

Irregardless, this Nation is in for a world of hurt. Sorry for the rant but checking on my order has left me surly.

On the good side…recent experience with the USPS…incredible tracking…marvelous job! That said, I think it was more about the vendor, than USPS itself.

You can have problems with any freight company….

I've dealt with UPS, USPS, and FedEx over the years. I've had great experiences with all 3, and bad. USPS is usually the cheapest and no more or less dependable. At least where I live. It's a gamble with any of them, but fortunately I've had more positive than negative interactions with all of them.

Then there is service like this by DHL. Ordered on the 21st, shipped on the 22nd. It's in Sac. and I should have it early. I'm only 70 mi north of Sacramento.
