Do I really need 2 days of Tactical Shotgun training?

Like so many other subjects here, there is merit and passion on both sides of the question.
Training is never a bad thing. Spending money on what we like is natural, and normal. If thats how a fellow likes to spend his time and money, I am all for it.
Most of us will never need the the training. If we do find ourselves in the position where it would be good knowledge to have, well, either you have the training, or you muck through the situation. Most of that stuff is over in seconds anyway. Most of us won't have the darn shotgun at hand if we needed it.
I have been shooting, and hunting with shotguns for about 50 years now. I certainly don't know it all, but I do have a lot of experience. For me, there will be no shotgun classes.

Well I border on a 'trick shot' with a shottie but I am either gonna : Plan A divert my Niagra Falls Vacation with my wife in Aug 1600 miles to go to Boone County Indiana or Plan B: to road trip 2000 miles (round trip) in July to northern Idaho to catch Lewis Awerbuck's Shotgun class as I can't wait for plan C: wait till 2005 when he is in this area. Yes I need his class like a fish needs water!!!!! :D :D :D

The carbine is the best ALL AROUND tool.

The shotgun is the best CLOSE RANGE (under 25 yards, of course estimates vary).

In most posts, people tend to articulate their CURRENT range realities.

In my current apartment, likely ranges are CLOSE, and I got friendly apartments ALL AROUND and below.

This makes a strong argument for four doses of nine lead pellets COM on slimeball, rather than capping off a lot of higher velocity FMJ .

But in my last apartment, six years ago, I was on the edge of a park with ranges extending up to a mile over the park and across a river, not that I had any reason to shoot that far. In that situation, I had little use for the shotgun, except for nighttime perimeter or contact breaker.

The point is, your range requirements will vary over time, you should adapt as needed.

But if I had to choose just one, it would be, of course, the Bushy.
