Was thinking of getting a propane heat buddy for the blind to use in late season, since my kid will be with me. Do these spook deer with either sound or smell or the glow ? -Thanks

It might if you were to light it when the deer was less then 50 yards away but in a blind with deer more then 50 yards away and down wind i doubt it would ever bother a thing. As a matter of fact Ive come to believe that because heat rises if anything it takes your sent up with it and actually reduces the chance a deer will smell you.

I've been using mine for the last 5 years with no problem. It's almost silent in use, just the click from the ignitor is noisy.

That's why I use one of those long nosed propane lighters instead of the igniter....especially when the woods is quiet. At lunch time you can toast your sandwiches over the Buddy too. On a cold bleary day, warm food is good. My youngest's favorite deerstand snack is what he calls "jerky Bacon". Jerky cooked hot and sizzlin' by hangin' it over the protective grill. Jerky made from the previous season's deer tastes the best..........

Heat buddies are pretty quiet and emit little odor but beware of cheaping-out and buying a heater with tons of warm-up and cool-down expansion/contraction noise. There's a hunt killer, well, that and your swearing at each click and pop.
