NRA rag, American Rifleman? Whataya think?
Removed, accidentally started my own thread in this one. So, so sorry. But mistakes happen. I'll go put it where it belongs.
I answered this thread already though, I am a shooter. Going shooting today. Tend to look at arms more as tools than anything else. I LOVE looking at collector items, but most collectors keep things in perfect condition, perfect boxes, UNUSED... Couldn't do it as a kid, can't do it as an adult. I can be patient, it isn't really in me but I learned it, so when it comes to pastimes, I draw the line there --those have to be fun.
But to some degree, aren't we all collectors? If they are ONLY tools, then all you really need is the right tool for the job. Maybe a backup. I have a few tools, or weapons, that get very little use but are still used and looked at as collectibles.
However, if I did run across that few dollar double barrel at a garage sale worth $30,000, I certainly would get it --and never fire it. I'd like to have a few collector items, but mostly as investments.
Sorry for the initial hijack, it was TOTALLY unintended. Thanks for not giving me grief about it too.
