i brought it home yesterday & greased it, to go shooting. after i greased it i noticed that the manual says not to use grease. i always grease my s&w 1911. it did shoot and fuction well. the kimber mag fuctioned about 90% of the time but it fuctioned 100% with my act mags from my s&w.

Kimber mags are absolute trash. Its why they only give you one, because they expect you to go out and buy two Wilson Combat mags and throw the factory one away. :p

Kimber anticipates your pistol not working fight and wants you to eliminate as many possible alternatives as possible during your break in period as you the buyer are literally paying to be their QC troubleshooter.

I use, very sparingly, Mobil One synthetic bearing grease...been doing it for years on 1911's and have never had a problem.

Sounds like a few in here don't know how to work a Kimber!

5" and 3" work perfectly for me! Never a problem with Kimber mags....yet, but I anticipate wearing a few out.

Got a Pro Carry 2, and have fired several hundred rounds absolutley trouble free. I know this may still be in the "break in" period, but I could'nt be happier with mine. Also the mags have shown no problems-I have 2.

I use "red" artillary grease on the slide rails of my Kimber UCC II and have from the begining. Have had no problems with this .45 ACP. I have two Kimber magazines that work 100% of the time. In fact I have used the Wilson magazines from my full sized Colt and three WW-II .45 ACP magazines. NONE have failed to feed in this Kimber.

nope, use the oil that came with my cleaning kit! I would go with whatever isn't going to break your warranty or foul your weapon. I would guess some greases might pick up grit and/or carbon so check your owners manual or call their CS to find out for sure.

thanks for the replys. im glad that it seems i can grease where i can & oil the rest, which is what i normally would do. the gun ran great except for the kimber mag. but with other mags it was perfect. as much as i hate to admit this it is more accurate then my 5" s&w 1911, that i love. i think this will be my favorite handgun. i know these kimbers are hit or miss but i happend to get a good one. i just think that kimber suffers from poor q.c.
