Do you have a "formula" for deciding what to get next?

Alright guys, I have my shopping list and its many times what I have to spend right now (I know, welcome to the party :rolleyes: ) Anyway, I was wondering how you guys deiced if your going to get more ammo, a new scope, or a tac vest, or whatever, whats your method to the money spending madness?

P.S. I do have a heathy balance of tin foil hat wearing, why do you need that wife, and good ole boy rifle bubbing redneck all telling me how to spend my $$$. I hear everything from you need IR, AP, SAPI plates, and 20K of ammo YESTERDAY, to you have how many already, we need to take a vacation, to you need a good 270 with a scope and big 4x4.

I look for bargins. If it is cheap and I can get a lot off it . I buy it

Cheap, quality ammo (I know, I know:p) is always my priority now since I don't reload right now. I save first, shop around for best prices and only spend what I intend or walk away. Remember that most will price match. My regular dealer was waiting on his next shipment of Sig 556's and the only Sig in town was at a Gander Mt. I got $300 knocked off with a quick phone call to a dealer in KY who did have some but I didn't want to drive to Ownesboro if I could get the same price in Evansville.

I have a pretty easy formula for factoring what I want to purchase next.

Start with when was the last time I bought a gun, ammo, or accessories. This is represented by "X". Next subract "Y", this represents how many days has it been since "X". This equals "Z", or how many hours until I make my next purchase (X-Y=Z)

Now comes the tricky part. Take a regular die (dice) and roll the die. The numbers 1-6 each represent a speciffic shooting related item. This week the numbers represent.

1 = Gun
2 = Ammo
3 = Holster
4 = Scope/Optic
5 = Cleaning Gear
6 = Any accessory not covered in 1-5.

You roll the die until the number comes up that you want and that's what you get. Of course you can get fancy and use 2 die (dice) and list up to 12 differnt items.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Rob

I have a small enough collection that I'm still in the process of filling niches.

By "niches", I mean big gaping holes in my gun collection. :uhoh:

I just entered an online gun giveaway. I'm trying my best. :)
