About 17-18 years ago I had a real room, but then a we moved and the basement in the new house wasn't finished yet. I "staked-out" a corner (13x15) as my gun room / man cave but of course I was never happy with it because it's just a corner of the basement. Over the last 30 or so years I've accumulated a lot of stuff. I reload, I've built AK's & HK's from DIY flats & kits, Mausers from stripped receivers, not to mention AR's ... and of course then there are the safes and it was open for any service/repair man to see because that's where the furnace is, the hot-water heater, the electrical panel and we were still finishing the house.

So now, once again I have my man cave, my domain ... It's only 10x15 but it's mine! Plus I have a good sized "closet" where I can keep my safes. Once I got my repair bench, reloading bench, cleaning bench & other stuff in, I realized how much room I lost but at least now things aren't just sitting out in the open ... or packed away in so many boxes. Now I just need some "art work" for the walls ... I've got a poster size "blue print" of an M-16 receiver and a cut-away view of an AUG ... but they are pretty big and other than my peg-board wall, I don't have a lot of wall space left.

When my wife and I were house shopping, we went with the intent in mind that I would have my own gun/reloading/man cave room.We got a small 3 bedroom house with the smallest bedroom being my gun room. In it are specifically my things like my die cast car collection, my book shelf, military memorabilia, reloading bench etc. Now and then it becomes a catch all/project room which irritates my OCD until I clean it out again.

My entire house is my Man Cave, and a full bedroom is my gun room. I am still valiantly hanging onto my batchelorhood, 57 years old and going.......

I'm building my Retirement Villa and I will have both a Media Room and a Man Cave. One on the second floor and the other on the Terrace Level. The Man Cave (on the terrace level) will be approximately 17x25 and will house all my stuff including the Radio's and Reloading benches. Just got the poured walls up today as the finish date is March 17 2015. I will post pictures of the finished Man Cave when it gets fully populated. Right now all of it is in climate controlled storage. BTW, three of the walls of the Man Cave are Poured Cement with the 4th wall going to be fully studded with a steel re-inforced door opening out to get access into it.

I have one on the second floor. Doubles as my library, cigar room and hobby room. Choosing the second floor may not have been the best idea, all the ammunition makes me fear that the floor will sag!

damn. you guys win. I have 8 feet of the basement wall with a rudementary bench, and a gun cabinet.

But then again that's due only to my laziness, and the fact that I don't want to interfere with cue clearance for the pool table.
but this thread gave me the idea for making a dedicated cleaning bench.

When we moved into our current home, my wife, awesome lady by the way, was adamant that I build the man cave that I have always wanted. It has taken about 6 years and several phases to afford but it has been well worth it.

Haha. You can never have too many handguns my friend. :)

Now, my wife had a shoe problem, but being wise, I never mention it...

I really like the old toolbox. Its a nice contrast with the rest of the room, which is nicer than my kitchen...

It's a first year production Snap-On tool box.....built for Snap-On by Waterloo Industries.

I've got a "safe room" under the 3 car garage complete with a vault door. It's on it's own zone for the geothermal system. It's below grade on 3 sides, so I guess it qualifies as a cave. Doubles as the gun/reloading room:

My 3 car garage is my "cave". Wife's Mini Cooper gets one spot. My '57 T-Bird currently under restoration takes another slot. The rest is guns stuff and workshop. Works for me. Still need a clean room to display collectables.

I reload indoors, The smallest room in the house. Oily, smelly, real noisy stuff get done in the garage.

Currently my "Man Cave" is a small area back in the back of the basement; it also doubles as my workshop. Looking to downsize eventually (fewer bedrooms), but an unfinished basement is at the top of my list as a "must have".
