Do you have Bayo's for your Milsurp's?

Sure do, but I dont use one when Im out and about.

Funny , aint it , when they did that "Assault Weapons Ban" and had them remove bayonet lugs and all, like a bayonet ON THE GUN pointed at you would be much more heinous~~LOL!!~~.....

Yup, I like bayonets on my milsurp. Bought a bayo for my M91 recently even though it was over 1/3 what I paid for the rifle. Although, I did pass on one for my Finn M27. Price was just too steep at this point in time. I know, it's not coming down but maybe I'll have more money later.

A big pointy thing on the end of an already long rifle just looks right. Will I ever use it? Highly unlikely, but if I were only concerned with function I wouldn't have bought a 60+ year old rifle in the first place.

Saw a pistol bayonet this weekend. $45 was too steep. Would've bit for $20 just because.

Yes, I like to display the rifles with the bayonet on. I don't have bayonets for all of them, but the ones I do are:

Lee Enfield No1 MkIII x 2
Lee Enfield No4 Mk1
M91/30
M44 (of course)
Yugo SKS (again, of course)
Arisaka Type 99
Arisaka Type 38 Carbine
Yugo M48
Mauser K98k
Chinese Type 56S
Yugo M24/47

Sure do, but I don't use one when I'm out and about.
They do get in the way, don't they?

The only two rifles I have that would be considered mil-surp have bayonets. My SKS has one semi-permanently attached and I sought out one for my M1 Carbine. (I also made damn sure I got a carbine with a lug when I was picking one out from the CMP).

I would seek out a bayonet on any gun that could take one, but I wouldn't pay a whole lot of cash for one or worry about it being a perfect collector's match.

I have the blade bayo on my SKS. Because of my muzzle brake, I can't even lock out the bayo, but I like that it's there. Why not hang a backup knife on your rifle? Makes sense to me. More ways to kill, maim, and destroy things.

Cheap upgrade, IMHO.

After the New Stone Age, the Bronze Age then the Iron Age (like bayonets) changed our weapons.

It's rewarding that we can move back about 4,000 years from the Plastic Age, if we choose, to wooden rifles with (lance) spikes on the end.

Both my Yugo 59/66 SKS and Mosin-Nagant M-44 came with bayo's.

Don't have one yet for the M1 Garnd, but workin' on it....trying to get my late Dad's back from oldest brother...and I'm the only one with an M1

I have only one...a original M4 for my M1 Carbine. If and when I pick up a Garand, I will probably do likewise, but until then I doubt I will add any more. There simply is little utility in a knife at the end of a rifle, as long as you have enough ammunition.

:)

Very nice Madcratebuilder! I really like that you have all the variations for the No.4 rifles, especially that Mk.1 and the No.7. I have bayos for all my mil-surps, and the one I'm most proud of is my Brit Pattern 1903 for the SMLE Mk.1 made my Enfield in December 1903! Thats the very first year of SMLE production!

OK. Here's the pics. Two-thirds have bayonets. :D

This is one of my projects for next year, I need a bayonet for the FN49, K31, 1911, and 91/30. My M1 Carbine doesn't have a bayonet lug so it never had one.

The 1911 used the 20in sawback bayonet and they go for about $250 online.

^You really should say "Swiss 1911", thought you were talking about a Colt auto-pistol to begin with. Was wondering why a Colt M1911 would come equipped with a engineer's bayonet.

:)

Not really, now that I think about it. On the Yugo SKS M59 it's part of the furniture; don't have the matching hardware for the Garand, Mauser, or Hakim...

I have one. The rifle is not exactly a milsurp, but the bayonet was made in 59, so it could be called that.

The only ones I have came on the rifles (a Yugo SKS, and a couple of T-53 Mosin-Nagants).

When I was a kid, growing up on a couple of major Civil War battlefields, we used to dig up rifle musket bayonets all the time. They made good tent pegs and candle holders for "kid camping."
