do you name your guns?

I refer to one of my K31's by the name of individual on the tag under the buttplate. This is just to tell it apart from the others. Aside from that I think naming tools is silly.

Only two have names. My wife's Walther .22 we named "Grits" when we found out we bought it the same day Grits Gresham passed away, and the wife likes to call my Bushmaster BAR 10 "Vera" because it reminds her of the character Jane Cobb's "Vera" in the Firefly series.

My Eldest named my .45 Schofield "The Werewolf gun" when she saw the Silvertips next to it during a cleaning.

The Masonry hammer is named Bertha, but haven't named a Car since the sad passing of the "Jolly Green Giant"... a 75 Jeep Cherokee Chief with a V-8 roar that scattered pedestrians from 3 blocks away.

I really need to replace that one...

Yes, and I fondle them all day and sleep with them at night and wash their little parts with oil whenever I can.

I used to have an Egyptian Maadi Misr 10 that was a relative pos. I called it Anubis. However, I think the name was a bit overkill as it was not very accurate. It was my pleasure to get rid of it.

My first handgun was a Kahr P45 that I named my little mule, because it kicked like one. But that was it. Traded that light striker for a S&W bodyguard .380 and have no regrets.

OK, I have to admit. I name all of my rifles

After anti-gun female democratic politicians.
There's Nancy, and Hillary, and Dianne, and Barbara, and Carolyn,,,,,

I have a RIA 1911-A1. On another board there was a guy who insisted the heat treat on all RIAs was so soft they were dangerous and that no reputable custom smith would work on them. He kept at it in spite of any facts. My RIA became known as "softer-than-chocolate-on-a-hot-day" then was shortened to "Old Chocolate"

I have two AR carbines that are identically equipped, except one is fitted with a SureFire WeaponLight. I used to call 'em "the twins" but I named them after a couple of former co-workers who had the same first and last names. One "Bob" was fat and the other tall and skinny - hence their nick names - "Fat Bob" and "Skinny Bob". The AR carbine with the WeaponLight is "Fat Bob" and the other is "Skinny Bob".

I have an SKS paratrooper I named "Holmes" because I bought it with award money from my employer, who recognized me because I'd taken the initiative on a project to just "make it right", which is Mike Holmes (Holmes on Homes) slogan.

I have "Howie" the 10/22. Howie is a former shipmate who was hard working, dependable and who retired as a Master Chief after putting in 30 years.

My 6.8x43mm AR rifle is "Hunter", because I built it specifically as a general-purpose hunting rifle.

I never named the 686-6, maybe I'll call it "Defaced" for that nice lock they put in.

but the 66-0 2.5" was named "mud" initially, when I took it apart I knew why it felt that way, after a good cleaning and some shooting I guess I could name it after the first word out of my mouth when I fired a 158 gr magnum from it, but that would not be allowed to write on here :)

whoo boy.

Taurus PT111 Mil Pro - Mighty Mite
Enfield No. 4, Mk. 1 - Ma Enfield
H&R Pardner Pump - The Noob Cannon

and my latest acquisition, which is still floating around in Layaway, but I can't wait to get her home,

Walther P38 - Oxana(named after a friend of a friend.)

Bob

Back when I lived in Manhatten I had a friend who was an ex-NFL linebacker. We could go anywhere anytime and be perfectly safe. So when I got my first self defense gun, I named it after him. Bob.

I tend to avoid names for inanimate objects. None of the stuff lying around my house, (cars, guns, cats) has a name, because I never could see the purpose in it.

No. The Manufacturer named them for me. Besides, telling my son to get the 63 and the 617 doesn't sound nearly as gay as "bring plinky and plookie".

The Smith&wesson mod-4506 right now is my home-protection gun, So i call it my 'middle of the night crack head killer'. Hopefully it will stay only the name rather then what it does.

No, I use the name given inanimate objects are commonly called by. If that's the case my guns are named rifle, pistol, revolver, and shotgun.
This long winded answer is because I was unable to post a two letter answer. Which would have been a simple, no.
