Haven't time to read thru all posts so - wondering what ''other'' might include?! Single shot?:p

I have pretty much switched to revo for some while .. it's summer carry anyways and have just stayed with it .... mainly cos of now having added CT grips.

There are times tho when ''both'' would be relevant ... P series could be in sho rig, and SP remains OWB 4 o'clock as a BUG.

Interesting, almost exact 2/3 to 1/3, auto/revo ratio at this stage of voting.

Sure. The link I posted details that data.

All loads are using Alliant powder for consistency in comparison.

You can safely push a 200gr 10mm to 1,145fps (max load) from a 5.5" barrel using 7.7gr of Power Pistol. You can safely push a 200gr 357 to 1,245fps (max load) from the same length barrel using 10gr of #2400.

You can safely push a 180gr 10mm to 1,240fps using 8.7gr of Power Pistol. You can safely push a 180gr .357 to 1,300fps with 12.5gr of #2400. However, those two bullets are incomparable, as the .357 will exhibit substantially greater penetration using similar bullets types (e.g., FMJ, JSP, etc.). Using a bullet of equivalent sectional density will produce more comparable levels of penetration given maximum loads, similar bullets and similar targets. You can safely push a 158gr .357 (comparable to a 180gr .400") to 1,420fps using 10.7gr of Blue Dot.

There are some manufacturers that exceed the velocities given. They do this by either using non-cannister grade powder or by simply loading beyond industry-recognized pressure limits. Comparing these (i.e., Double Tap and Buffalo Bore) produce similar results. The 10mm can be pushed faster and the .357 can as well.

edited to add: The 10mm is a great round, and my Colt Delta is on the short list of pistols I wish I hadn't gotten rid of. When I looked into reloading for it, I discovered the ".41 magnum in an auto" claims were somewhat overstated. As the other poster pointed out, it matched the .41 mag allright...the lighter "police" (or ".41 special") loading. Not the full-bore .41 magnum loading. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed, but I did hang on to that pistol for a little while due to other qualities it possessed that I liked (feel, trigger, etc).
