Do you remember your first handgun? What was it, when was it & where is it today?

My first was a CZ97 bought new is 03 for 500$. I was 18 and flush with cash from my tips delivering furniture. Almost went with a Ruger p345, but I have never regretted getting the 97. I can remember buying cases of steel case 45 ammo to run through it. I recently replaced several springs and she is still good to go.

First one was a used Springfield XD .40. Bought it for $450. It was my duty gun for my job in armed security, which lasted 6 months, I hated the company so left and didn't pursue another job in the field as it was a second job anyhow. This was in 2008. It wasn't very accurate, and I never really fell in love with it, so I traded it in 2009 for a Ruger GP100 4", which I sold for $450 after about 2 years or so to fund some other firearm and I don't even remember what. I should have hung onto the GP100. It was a wonderfully accurate handgun with a fantastic trigger, but I had it in my head that I wanted to try everything, and didn't really know what I had. I figured i could always get another....turned out That one was even better than the Match Champion I currently own which is saying something. Never sell one that's great. Learned that lesson a few times now, and it finally sunk in about 7 years ago.

Ruger PS90 .45. The first and worst gun I've ever owned. The trigger is literally like every pull is crunching alluminum foil. Actually, I think I'll sell it.

Ruger P90DC. Think I paid $425-450 in 1996 or 97. For what it is, I became pretty accurate with it. Sits in my toolbox in the garage, if I'm out there late at night. Just found a newer 8rd mag for it in the used bin at the lgs.

I used to have one. I think I still have a mag or 2.

First one was a Kimber Team Match II in 9mm. I traded it for some cash and a Ed Brown Kobra Carry years ago. I kinda wish I had it back... not because it has any place in my collection, but because it was the first and ultimately what I learned to shoot with.

Yes, I remember it, a Smith & Wesson 1006, about 1993, and it's inside a GunVault on my bedside nightstand.
