I think the lead in to the show has Sky King flying a Cessna T 50 and the rest of the show is a Cessna 310.
I guess they did not want to film a different lead in to the show when they changed airplanes later in the series.
Just an observation. I watched the show as a kid.I do not remember the commercials though.

I can remember well. I lived for Saturday mornings -- not the cartoons (which I thought were silly even as a young kid), but Sky King, Jungle Jim (my favorite), Roy Rogers, Lone Ranger, Tarzan and whatever old Western happened to follow. I remember ads for Daisy air rifles, too. Watching the cowboy shows and also Combat and Rat Patrol formed my first desires for guns: a 4 3/4 inch SAA, a Colt Gov't Model and a tommy gun

Boys Life now there's a blast from the past. I had a subscription, and the day the new issue arrived was a special day every month, for sure! ...
Seems you where a Mayberry RFD fan also. :)

bttw, I actually got a Remington '66' at a gun show for 10.00 as it was a mess.

All it took was a COMPLETE breakdown & cleaning ,and seemed it was NEVER,EVER cleaned.

Worked great and I to saw the 1x1" block shooting thing.

Never got to try it and sorry I sold that "66".

I did buy a 66. It was a lot of fun to shoot. Shooting with a scope was not as accurate as without. It just hit anything you aimed at.

I did take it apart to clean. What a mess! Took me days to get back together. The internet helped. As saw that the receiver and barrel were not attached so the scope would lose it’s zero.

After I got my childhood passion quenched I traded it in on the 10/22 with lazer to help with night varmint problem.

But still dream of getting a black Apache sometimes.
