Well, it was on last night. Anybody catch it? I was very dissappointed in the whole thing. Lack of muzzle control. Lack of hearing protection and eye protection. Fricken guy was shooting with the camera man down range of the muzzle! When he attempted to rapid fire, did you notice the camera guy pan off and start to run with the camera still rolling?

Although no comments were made by ABC the editing showed the dad to be a bit of a nut and the bachelor to be a brainwashed soccer mom. Looks like the majority was right in the poll. The bachelor did hit his target with the first shot though, so that is a start.

I guess the good part was seeing a hot chick shoot a gun! :D

Gosh, we don't need the media to make fools of us. That gunowning Dad did a good job of making gun owners look bad all on his own.

What a loser!

He gets out of his truck with a shotgun. He does nothing to get to know or have an intelligent conversation with the bachelor. He speaks in cliches. He fills his beautiful daughters head with stupid lies like "love is only in the movies". The daughter totally adores her dad and has bought into his crap. I feel sorry for her.

The guy was a posturing, obnoxious idiot desparately trying to hide his fear that someone may take his little girl away from him. Apparently, the mom is already gone. I wonder why she left?

I did see this. Pity: the daughter of this nut is actually one of the most desirable options the Bachelor has, looks-wise.

The dad not only did gunowners a great disservice; did you notice how the program made the Nylon 66 .22 sound like a high powered rifle?

This gun- fearing Canadian football player isn't my idea of the ideal man, but his female choices on this show deserve no better, from what I can see. If nothing more, he is at least a sensitive, caring, apparently honorable and honest man.

I'm glad my daughter is already married! I wouldn't want her taking a fancy to this guy, who actually says that he loves living in New York City!

Lone Star

The bachelor guy is certainly more of a real man than the psuedo tough gunowner. However, I thought he acted pretty much like a wimp about the guns and he let that Dad intimidate him. Come on.

The daughter would be my first choice too. During the beginning of the series she was skeptical and displayed a distrust of men. It is obvious now where she got that from.

I saw it last night too.

Tara is not hard on the eyes at all. However, her pessimistic views on love, relationships, and men in general would be tiresome.(Brainwashed comes to my mind) Her dad, although trying, is detrimental to her overall psyche, with a noticible absence of a mom. His gun handling skills, poor judgement (I could not see ear protection used by anyone), and overall machismo achieved through his firearms was enough to make consertives turn anti.

I actually shoot bows with Tara's cousin. He seems like a good guy from the times I have met him and is good friends with a good firend of mine which is good enough for me.

I would not be surprised at all if the whole thing was staged. Lots of legal aspects were involved and that could have been one.

At least they showed him put the guns away before they cracked open the beers. You guys are right about the fact that the father made us look like "gun nuts". As far as the bachelor goes he is one big wimp to scream like a 5 year old girl when the father did rapid fire.

I'm still waiting for Survivor: The Alaskan North Slope.

Me too. But rather than watching them freeze and get et by a polar bear, I think it would be much more entertaining to set them loose in the summer and watch the swarms of twin-engined mosquitoes drain their blood dry.:D

Come on guys--It's a damn TV show!! Nothing "real" about it. I did find it funny that the Dad told his daughter that "man are dirtbags" I tell my 12 year old that "All man are scum" Must be a Daddy thing;) Before you all start the flamethrowers she doesn't listen to me anymore than her mother does.:banghead:

I caught a little of it as my girlfriend watched and my first thought was "holy crap, they need some ear protection!"

why the hell do you people waste your time watching tv? i can understand the occasional mindless entertainment like southpark or enterprise
