Does a BP gun need to go through a FFL when transferring from out of state?

I am looking at some black powder rifles that are out of state. Will I need to get a FFL involved if I do end up purchasing one (from a non ffl seller)?

Any light yall can shed on the subject is welcome.

Or, you could tell us what state you are in and we could likely tell you if there are restrictions or not. But, like nalioth said, a big retailer will have the info posted too.

Spoke with my local FFL. IF the BP gun cannot accept a centerfire barrel, the seller can ship directly to me no problems. If the gun is an encore or optima elite or similar and is capable of using a centerfire barrel with no other modifications, then it must go through a FFL. Looks like I'm good to go. Thanks.

nalioth,
I never though of doing that... If I want to go to cabelas, I just drive up there (it's only like 6 hours).
