Does anyone have a secret contact at Optics Planet?

It finally arrived yesterday. They printed the shipping label and then waited a week to send it to USPS.

Now, wouldn't you think that UPS would be there just about every day to drop stuff off? Why couldn't they just as well pick items up and take them back to the mother-ship? At the end of the day. and they have packages left in the truck, "GEEEZ! Maybe these need to go somewhere else".

I've generally received good service and prompt delivery from OP. But, when they sent the wrong ground blind, TWICE, I chose to give up and get a refund instead. In view of the double error, they refunded my money promptly. From beginning to end, the process took 2 months. Access by phone is very inadequate. I had to wait usually 30 minutes to talk with someone. Got cut off once and had to wait another 30 minutes. I would like to have the blind, but am looking for another vendor for that particular item, even if I pay more. I'll still use OP because they usually have items in stock when others do not. As they sat, You place your bets and you takes your chances.

ZERO from OP and advise the same. 2 orders were 2 to many.

Add me to the list of folks who ordered items that were "in stock" and then waited 2 months to get them. Did that once and don't shop there anymore.

I have tried 3 Times to order from them. All three times the items that I ordered showed In Stock. A few days after my order was placed I would get an email stating the items were on back order. No more OP for me.

I have been trying to get scope rings for my new CZ457 for over two months. They use an 11mm ring that no one local has in stock. That being the case, back in early March I ordered them from Optics Planet. The USPS lost the first shipment, but it took two weeks from the last update before anything could be done. Finally, they ship a replacement set and they show up. The problem is these have a cross threaded screw and are not useable. I get an RMA and ship them back. A little over a week from them receiving them back, they start an order to send me replacements, again. This time I get a tracking update email that says the label was created May 6, but there has been no activity since that time. I know they are swamped with customer service stuff, but it takes forever to get a response via email and you cannot get through on the phone. They are also not returning voicemails. I am pretty easy to get along with, but I have been trying to get these rings for over two months and still do not have them. Does anyone have a way where I can get in contact with them? I am not saying that they are a bad company, because they are not, but my frustration level is quite frankly starting to elevate. I want to shoot my new rifle!

Bernie, I'm still not sure how to contact people on this forum, but I'll try.I've cot some pretty stringent call blocking on my phone, so you may not be able to contact me like that. Try texting or email [email protected]. Basically, I have what your looking for in an 11mm dovetail, and a 3/8. Brand new EGW brand that didn't work for a project I had. Contact me, I'll make a heck of a deal. (youdecide what they're worth.

I have a bunch of secret contacts there.

All the people on THR who have been raked through the coals by them.

They have all told me never to do business with OP
Don’t do business with “OP”

I thought you meant the thread starter for a second! I hope no one else gets that confused.

My first order from Optics Planet was bumpy, the next 25 or so have all been just fine.

As it happens Brownells is just a few hours away and I did once place an order. The item was in stock, until it wasn’t, went West (I live East) to KC, then East (toward me but too far) to Chicago, then batted around for over a week before delivery. 12 days if I recall for a simple stripped upper to travel 2 1/2 hours in-State.

Do enough business and sooner or later there will be disappointment.

I ordered a hoppes gun vise they had on sale many, many months ago. I wanted it to hold the rifle while I mounted a scope on my CZ 455 LUX.

It never came in the mail, I wasn't updated on the status and I lost the order number so I never could check back.

I pretty much forgot about it. I used a home made vise to hold the gun, and put the scope on (Talley 1" high rings are sold on Amazon by Talley for the CZ rimfires, they're roughly 60 bucks a set.)

Literally, when I opened the door yesterday it was sitting on my porch in a huge box. Also in the shipping box was an AR-15 spare parts kit and a bore light. It had been so long that I had forgotten I had ordered those, too.

I learned...never again.

Good luck with your search.

Stay safe.
