I've been looking all over for these numbers and I'm wondering if someone can help. Both stats seem completely relevant to carrying a handgun for self-defense.
1. Number of shots fired in the average self-defense scenario: the only figures I can find are 3 shots average -- but this is based on info from the seventies, and police shootouts rather than civilian.
2. Frequency of fatality in gunshot wounds: I've read that between 10% to 20% of gunshot wounds are fatal. No solid sources.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.
