I own their 5.56 Kestrel suppressor. It works vey well. I have tried to reach them for instructions because I received none in the box but they have not responded to several emails or messages.

Any ideas or feedback on their stuff or service?

No experience with their customer service. What sorts of questions do you have about the suppressor? Maybe folks here can answer them.

My first suppressor, bought last year, was their Guardian 22; recently received the Guardian 9. Instructions for the Guardian 22 were available on their website; not so for the Guardian 9.

Thanks for the reminder. I e-mailed them a week ago, asking for a link to instructions for the Guardian 9, which doesn't operate the same way as the Guardian 22, and got no response. Maybe their c.s. is lousy??? Like their suppressors, though.

I think the general consensus is that they make a decent "bang for the buck" product but their CS sucks. I have a Kestrel 22 and there were some small machining issues that I needed to send back for warranty work but I was never able to get anybody to respond back to the online form I filled out.

This will be my first and last HTA product. There are plenty of other manufacturers with good CS departments.

i have heard nothing but negative about HTA's customer service and quality on their centerfire cans. The Guardian may be just fine, but I personally wouldnt own one when there is the Spectre II, Sparrow SS, and TBAC 22l-1 out there.

Same can be said for their centerfire offerings.

I purchased a Guardian 22 with aluminum baffles. After cleaning twice I decided that I wanted to upgrade. I emailed them, received a quick response, sent mine back and received the stainless ones within a week for $99. It was great customer service. Sorry to hear that their CS is in decline.

We placed an order for a customer over a year ago, didn't hear anything for months, finally gave up on it and ordered from someone who had the stuff stock.

I haven't had to deal with them on a CS issue but the reviews on other sites are not good.

Conclusion: with suppressors as with anything else, you get what you pay for.

I'm still using the aluminum baffles with my Guardian 22. Why did you change to stainless? I haven't had any real problems cleaning the aluminum. Is there some reason other than easier cleaning?

Durability. You're less likely to damage stainless baffles if you get a baffle strike, and you can use much harsher chemicals to clean it (the dip, for example).

I don't know the specifics of this particular suppressor, but usually .22 suppressors with aluminum baffles are only rated for .22 LR. But most .22 suppressors with stainless baffles are rated up to at least .17 HMR and .22 Magnum from what I've seen.

Also, sometimes stainless baffles can make the suppressor a little quieter. The SWR Warlock has aluminum baffles and has the exact same design as the Spectre, which has stainless baffles. But the Spectre is a few decibels quieter than the Warlock. Of course, a lot of that difference is probably due to the Spectre's stainless outer tube (the Warlock's tube is aluminum).

The Guardian 22 is rated for .22 mag, .17, and f.a. I guess I might swap the aluminum for stainless, if I have problems with the aluminum baffles.

I clean them with Butch's or Hoppe's, using a wire brush, then tumble them in cc treated with Hoppe's for a few hours.
