Does anyone only have one handgun?

I only have two centerfire handguns, and my Sistema 1911 is the only one I shoot. It's my carry pistol and IPSC pistol. I do have a .22 kit for it, which I use for some of my practice.

I wouldn't go to just one gun for the simple fact that anything mechanical can break and if that happens you have no back up until your primary gets fixed.

I only have 2 now. Model 10 Smith and a Colt Offical Police. I am more of a rifleman. However, I have been bitten by the bug. I'll be picking up a 2 1/2" Model 19 and a 1911 shortly.

ARE YOU SERIOUS???

ONE handgun??? SURELY YOU JEST!!! Yes, I have ONE handgun. It's an old S&W Stainless in .357 in a nightstand drawer next to my bed. Wife's bedside drawer holds an old Colt .38sp Detective Special. And for backup, there are 40 more in my den, from a 4.25mm Mdl. 1926 Liliput to a Shansei Mauser '96 broomhandle in .45acp. ONE HANDGUN??? Sorry, I just can't wrap my mind around THAT concept.

Found on a card in a Sears store's mens room: "I'm lost. I've gone to look for myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait."

I'm about forty years too far down the road to really adhere to that--but as a concept there is very little wrong with it. At some indeterminate time I will accept the obvious and start disposing of guns in a manner of my choosing. Odds are the last to go will be a medium frame DA .357.

My "aggregation" is that of a somewhat selective pack rat. I tend to acquire multiples of whatever I have found to be good--very good--for me--sort of like a squirrel and nuts. So I have a "few" 1911s; a couple of BHPs; "some" DA .357s; and about a squad's worth of M1s. I would hate to run out of any of them, and if I have any grandkids I would hope that some of the good stuff would trickle down to each.

But, yeah, "one good gun" is still a great idea.

Interesting question and I am surprised at how many actually have only one handgun. I had only one handgun (Ruger Supersix Blackhawk 22/22mag 3 screw) for about 30 years. It was my first handgun and I still have it, but then the law changed in Feb. 1995 and I decided to start buying handguns and I have about lost count of the number. poppy

I did get by with a Hi Standard Sport King .22 for quite a while when I first started shooting but it wasn't too long before I realized I needed a little more variety. I added a 4" S&W 586 and Browning HiPower and foolishly believed that I had all my needs and wants covered; boy was I ever wrong!

Right now i have about.... i think four. I have a Taurus 38 revolver with nickle plating, pear handled grips, and with a 4 inch barrel. i also have a Beretta92F not the FS but the F model. i did have a glock 19 but i sold it. i also got a Browning Hi power. and last but not least i have a 44 magnum Desert Eagle i think it's the mark seven version. But im hoping i can get a hold of a 9mm Luger soon.:D

My XD-40 is my current favorite and I think that will be hard to beat. But I keep looking for that next favorite.

Can't imagine going back to just one gun.

I only have 2 autos, and they are both BHP's. I have never had a handgun that felt better in my hands than a BHP. I also have a few revolvers, a .38sp, 2 .357's and a 44mag. I keep the .38sp for the wife( she likes it ) and the kids like the .357's, especially the Python. I don't keep anything that I won't shoot, or some one in the family won't shoot.

1 Hand gun?? There is not ONE versitile enough to keep me happy.

I'm down to 14. Two rimfire autos. Four .38spl revolvers. Two .357mag revolvers. 9mm DA. 3 1911's. SA .44mag. DA .44mag.
