Does anyone own only one - or one type?

I only own one right now. Ruger Service Six, .357 Magnum.
More to come shortly, though.

dasmi,
If you're going to have just one, that's a great "just one" to have!

I'm really considering consolidating out my Kel-Tec (haven't carried it since I got my j-frame) my Kahr (haven't carried it since i got my micro-1911) and my old Colt Police positive (with a snubby and a 3" "K", just not shooting it.) If I get rid of any of these, the cash will go toward another S+W revo or some type of 1911. I guess I'm just in a boring phase!

I think I'll stay with autoloaders but other than that I am open
thinking about a Beretta or a Sig 9mm next

With the exception of a couple of antique-inherited Smiths:
S&W 442
Ruger GP100 4"
Glock 20
Sig 220 stainless .45ACP

And, as of next Monday, Hi Power- blue/walnut grips/fixed sights. To replace one I sold in '75 as a poor student. I'm going to shoot it awhile and send it off for accurizing as $ allows.
Other than a Ruger SA in .45 Colt, that just about takes care of me. I am VERY impressed with the Springfield GI. Hell of a bargain. If I had to chose only one I guess it would be a choice between the Ruger or the Glock. Starting from scratch and only one, either Ruger or Springfield GI. Good thing I have no sons to pass this onto. I'd be saddled with a LOT more.

BilboTN, that's an interesting and uncommon choice for an "only one". It seems most people that have only one revolver it is usually a .38/.357 of some manufacture.
I actually ran into two guys shooting together last time i went to the range that both kind of "fit the mold" we're talking about. One had only revos, about 9 or 10 in all, all blued except for a 4" M66. J's, K's and L-framed smith's all in .38/.357 with the exception of a blued S+W .22 I'm not sure the model #.
His buddy had all Sigs including a 220, 229 in .40, 226 in 9mm and a .239 (not sure what cal the 239 was.) Each had their own perfect collection but they were also having a blast shooting each other's guns that day. I also used to shoot with a guy who had only Glocks but all styles and calibers of Glocks.

In addition to various longguns, I only own two Glock pistols in 9mm -- the G19 and G26.

Both fit me perfectly (the latter with the pinky extension on the magazine), are comfortable, point well, are reliable, etc.

I've tried Sigs, but they seem top/front heavy and just don't point well for me. I haven't shot HK's yet, but probably will.

The Springfield 1911 I shot at the nearby range was quite nice, and I'm looking at getting one once I get out of California (I refuse to buy more pistols here due to mandatory handgun registration).

I have substantial quantities of 9mm lying around, so I might as well have pistols that share the same ammunition, no? Once I get a 1911, then I'll have a bunch of .45ACP lying around too. :D

Yes

I only have one gun, a Glock 26, which I shoot at least a couple of times each month.

My wife has a Walther P22, but it is only used a couple of times a year.

JimPHL, That's the only gun I own at the moment. I've had/traded/sold many over the years and I'm debating on what to purchase next. I'll probably get another .357 (GP-100) or possibly a S&W 610 if I can find a good deal on one.

I pretty much stick to the 1911 platform in .45. I have 3 Kimbers, a SA, a Colt and a Para, although its an LDA. I also have an AMT Hardballer but its incomplete, first I needed the grip screws and bushings, then the grips, at some point I grabbed the guide rod, sear pin, MSH... I think it would be easier to list how much of it is left.

Otherwise, I have a Kahr PM9 (coat pocket carry), and a Taurus Model 85 (other coat pocket carry). I'm probably getting another G17 soon, mainly just because 33 rounds mags are fun.

I guess I'm all over the place...

If I could have only one auto it would be...er, ahhhh...

okay, if I could have only one of my revolvers it would be...hmmmm...
:D

Not one or even one type, but I am close. I have decided to stick with two centerfire calibers: .38/.357 and 9mm, so I sold all my .45 stuff.

If I had to reduce it down to just one, it would be my SIG P228. I went through a SIG P239 and a Browning Hi Power before settling on the P228, which for me is the perfect pistol.

However, I am enjoying shooting revolvers more and more. My 2.25" Ruger SP101 is easy to shoot, and an ideal carry gun.

Just today a 4" S&W 586 arrived. I can't wait to shoot it. I had to sell a 4" 686 last year to finance something else, and my son has never let me forget what a great shooter it was.

So for me it is two: the .38/.357 revolver platform, and the 9mm autoloader platform. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we do also have a Firestorm .22 pistol which recently replaced a Walther P22, but I don't shoot the .22 as much as my son does.
