Does anyone sell .22 LR Snap Caps?

The following is pretty dang prominent on Cabela's page- right there in the description-

Training Rounds(not shown) are designed to teach safe firearms handling. They are not snap caps. They may be worked through the actions of any rimfire firearm for function and testing. Dry firing with these training rounds in the chamber will not damage the firing pin. Impact damage will limit their usefulness to four or five firing pin strikes.
Available calibers: .17 HMR, .22 LR, .22 WMR.

So Cabela's is correct but I'd still have thought they would have helped you out.

But I'm not surprised- I complained about the RV/Truck parking area at their Greenville SC store being full of employee CARS both online and in-store and was basically blown off.
Guess they don't want my business since often when I am in that area I am towing a trailer and there is usually no place else to park.

Hi - ya, I did read that about training rounds, but since that's not what I was buying, and my shopping cart said I had purchased the SnapCaps, I was sure that all was well.

Technically what you pointed out was correct, but if I was going to the food store to buy oranges, and they were side by side with apples, and the receipt from the store said oranges, I'd be rather ticked if I looked inside the bag and found apples...


Someone else from Cabelas wrote me last night - he apologized, said they would correct the website, that I should send back the wrong parts and I'll get credit, and mailed me a $10 gift certificate. All I wanted, was an apology.

(I could say here that the next time I ordered parts, I can do it by phone, but the support person I spoke to the first time did all this on her own, and she ended up with "snap caps" in her shopping cart, that we now know are not snap caps. So much for doing it by phone......

Use the snap caps to function test the gun but I would not dry fire on rim fire snap caps they tend to go to hell in a hand basket quick
