Does anyone store or carry in Condition 3?

When I'm in my car/truck, I can only transport a firearm "unloaded, and fully enclosed in a..." Bla, bla, bla. This means an unloaded handgun, in a zipped pistol-case, and a loaded mag or speed-loader in my pocket.

Handy? Nope. Fast? Hah! Better than a cocked & locked .45 ACP at home? Yup.

Would this be Condition 4? Hmmm... Zero = cocked & unlocked; one = cocked & locked; two = none in the pipe, but loaded mag; three = no mag inserted and none in the pipe. Since there's a case involved, this must be Condition 4.

Does anyone store or carry in Condition 3?
Example, please sir can you wait while I load my gun before you attack me? Condition one so I don't have to ask that question:banghead: .

If it's on my person or directly and immediately under my personal control, it's condition 1.

If it's in storage, it's unloaded and the mag is out of the grip.

If the wife and I are the only ones in the house it MAY be condition 3 if it's just on the bedside table.

If anyone else at all is in the house, it's on my person and the first paragraph pertains.

In the safe, guns are unloaded.

On my person, gunvault or nightstand. Loaded and ready to go. This is one reason I like the HK P7 so damn much.

Condition III storage

Hi,

I store some guns in condition III in the safe. I do this to prevent cook offs in the unlikely event of fire. I carry in condition I.

Cheers,

Cocked, locked and ready to rock. The only way to go.

I strongly believe all of you should do it YOU way. You got to be comfortable with your weapon.

I carry my Steyr M40 HOT and my Taurus M27 Tracker loaded, but I have to cock the hammer.

I don't feel comfortable carrying my Ballester Molina .45, so when I do, it's NO round in the chamber. Use it mostly for target practice though.

Cheers

THE TWO MOST USELESS THINGS ARE AN EMPTY GUN AND A DULL KNIFE

And all this time I thought the two most useless things were the runway behind you and the altitude above you.

cocked and locked for carry.

I'm with eagles1181.
If a gun has ammo in it, it's got one in the pipe.

Cocked & Locked.

Always.
