does anyone under the age of 27 have this strange affinity for 1911's?

don't get me wrong i think 1911's are ok, but i have a feeling that when the baby boomers and the generation right after them are dead and gone the 1911 is going to lose a bit of it's mystique.

i want to know if anyone under the age of 27 thinks the 1911 is the holiest of holy's?

yep.

Colt XSE is the finest firearm I have ever owned.

USP's are nice as well though.

Yes. I have always loved the look and feel of a 1911, and can't wait to get my hands on one (or ten). They may lose some mystique and I could see that, but man, I love them.

What about the age gap you missed between the Boomers/Jones generations and Gen-Y/Millenials? You skipped Gen-X/Busters and Cold-Y'ers.

i'm interested in a very specific demographic. :)

Yes. I plan to buy as many as I can. Dont get me wrong I plan to own as many guns as I can until Im dead but the 1911 just has something that the others dont.

Im 21. I have a Kimber Custom II. It is my favorite handgun. I'd like to build another 5 inch and a 4 inch. And I'd love to get an STI 2011.

i love 'em. 23

although revolvers tickle me pinker

but if i were to own just ONE semi, it would be five 1911s.

21. own a kimber tle/rl II. absolutely love it. and out the limited handguns i have shot love it. and out of the numerous handguns I have held only one or two have felt as good. and out of the numerous i have looked at none have looked so good.

I'm 22. I think the 1911 is the most handsomely designed handgun in the world. I've only shot one a couple of times and even at that, I'm not experienced with enough different handguns yet to determine if a 1911 is the best for me. From a visual standpoint however, the 1911 wins for me, hands down

Yes. I love 1911s (but don't own one currently) but I also love Browning Hi-powers as well (I own and carry one).

Im 25 and love the 1911. Im more of a revolver guy but the 1911 is the best semi auto in my opinion.

JMB's invention is here to stay.

I've owned 3 since I started shooting handguns. Don't own any now, but that's only because I can't afford to feed a hungry .45 at the moment. I'm 25.

I disagree with your hypothesis that the 1911 will lose mystique in the next half century or so. I'm sure there were similar predictions when the 1911 came out that revolvers would lose some mystique of their own; same for bolt action rifles when semi-auto offerings were popularized. Like the aforementioned examples, the 1911 ain't goin' nowhere.

I have shot a few, and was disappointed at how small they actually are :p. After seeing them for years online, I figured they were much bigger then they really are. I might own one at some point, but they certainly didn't feel magical when I have shot them. I have a hard time seeing how any of them are worth more then 900$.

1911's are amazing! They make me gun-lust everytime i see one in the store... i would buy them all if my wife wouldn't divorce me for it.

my name is Brian, i'm 25, i'm a 1911-aholic

Im 22 years old, and i bought an XD 45 as my first handgun. i thought it was awesome. Then One day at the range someone had a 1911, he let me use it and i fell in love:D since then i bought 3 handguns and they were all 1911:neener:

Very Nice UH OH... im not so good at taking pictures lol

how do u get them so big? I am using the little paper clip icon to submit them. is that wrong?

The 1911 had a resurgence in popularity due to the high capacity magazine ban we had. So most people in the over 30 age group gravitated to the 1911 during that time. If you are required to have fewer bullets, you want them to be as big as possible.
