Ordered some stuff that came to a little under $500 but no loaded ammo, primers, or powder. It was sent adult signature required. Missed the FedEx guy and probably will on next couple attempts.

I like Grafs but I can rarely be home for a delivery. If they ship everything this way, I'll never get it unless i want to go to the hub to pick it up. Was just luck that I happened to be here for previous deliveries because I was burning up vacation time or working nights that week.

I had assumed it was for ammo, powder and primers only. It was probably because the amount was over $250 or some such.

They are covering themselves in case of a non-delivery claim chargeback. I certainly don't blame them.

You have to be an adult to buy ANY reloading products according to the ATF so the adult signature is required by all shippers as far as I know. This has been my experience so far.

I have bought powder, and primers from Grafs, and Powder Valley, bullets from MG. Ammo from other places online, I didn't have to sign for the PV order or for the ammo, nor the bullets.

It depends on the sender maybe.

Midway has never sent anything to me that required a signature. I find it waiting if I'm gone, if I'm home they just drop it and are back in the truck before I get to the door. But that's UPS, don't know about FED-up---oops EX! Could be a effed EX thing!

But then I haven't done any business with Graff's for years, so this is good info, another reason to NOT do any more!

As for that "ADULT" requirement thing for reloading hardware,HUH? Never heard of such a thing.

Signing for packages and delivery confirmation can protect both parties from being left holding the bag over non-receipt/non-delivery. You aren't signing away any constitutional rights or anything.

Just got a order from GRAFF today, of reloading supplies, got left it at the door. I would call GRAFF and ask, there may be some where on the order page where you sign-off on the signing thing.

It is just a pain getting a shipment from Grafs because of the signature. FedEx is terrible in my neighborhood. They will come by, but not leave a sticky to sign. I end up having to call the branch and have had to go get it myself before. I can't wait till the fire the jackleg who runs this route.

Yep.

I don't care about signing, I care about not being here to sign. If I have to wait for 3 attempts on consecutive business days & then go to the hub to get it on day 4 that's a considerable delay and inconvenience.

If I could just sign a sticky & they'd leave it the next day, that would be fine. But it isn't regular signature required - it's adult signature so signing the sticky note doesn't work.

I've ordered reloading stuff from Graf's, Midway, Cabela's, & Wideners. I think this is the only thing that required adult signature. Some were left at the door on 1st attempt when I wasn't home. Other orders from graf's I just happened to be home so it may have been adult sig req'd but was transparent to me since I was here on 1st attempt.

"Non-Hazardous Shipments normally require an indirect signature for delivery. All shipments over $300 and all hazardous shipments will require an adult signature for delivery."

That clears that up. Thank you. It is as I thought, they don't like dropping stuff at the door assuming you'll get it. Too much of a chargeback risk for larger values of goods.

I knew that, I was addressing a comment that some other guy made about it being a bad place to buy from because they require one to sign.

It might have been for ammo that the adult signature was needed. I rarely order anything under $300 at a time and it is usually HAZ-MAT also. I have a lot of hassles with UPS and FED-X with shipping to me so I now have them call me when they are in town and I meet them somewhere.:fire: So I may have been in error--oops. There are several sites that require adult signature for reloading products to be shipped IIRC.

Is there somewhere else you can have deliverys sent? A neighbor, relative, etc, someone who's home days and will sign for you?

Hazardous Materials Require an Adult Signature
ID may be required at delivery for proof of age. In the event that the package is not delivered after 3 attempts or refused, customer will be responsible for all associated shipping charges including Haz Mat fee.

This is displayed very prominently and highlighted in yellow as you checkout.

Me either.

I have ordered non hazardous items will under $300 from Grafs and they sent it signature required. I believe that if you use the free shipping option they require a signature. Just guessing though.

I've ordered brass, bullets, powder, and primers from many different on-line sellers, but only Graf has sent them "adult signature required."

I read their terms and made plans to be home on the day the shipment would arrive. If I could not be home, I would have had the stuff sent to a trusted third party who could be home.

It sounds like Grafs is shooting themselves in the foot with all their conditions for delivery. Glad this came up so I can continue to avoid them as I have been!

UPS is usually in a too big of a hurry to wait for a signature. They've dropped packages on my steps marked "adult signature required" that I almost tripped over when going outside. No knock or hihowareya or nothing. OR it was waiting for me when I got home.

I had the same problem with Fedex till I went to their office & filed a Form where they will leave the Package at your Home, Fedex also gave me a small sticker with a Number on it to stick on my Door. I have never had a problem now & no signature needed now for a delivery.
