Is there such a cartridge as .25-35?
Someone is selling a rifle and lists that as the caliber.
Is it real?
If it is, where would I get ammo?

Yes it came about in approx:1895-96 it was a fairly light weight ctg, I think a 115-120gr FN projectile at a little over 2,200 fps or so. I may be wrong but I believe it's also called the .25WCF.
I'm sure one of the Cowboy action guys could give you more accurate info.

Thanks for all of the information. This group is fantastic.

Lee lists a .25-35 Winchester, with bullets from 60 to 117 grains, and velocities from 1900 to 2600 feet per second. It uses a .257 bullet and a tapered case that starts at .416 and ends at .370. The taper is of the type that I associate with black powder loads.

Standard load is a 117 RN at 30-30 speed. Very under rated round too, have one from 1924 thats killed more elk and bear than most people have seen.

this is a fabulous round, reeeallly just great, great for 200 yds or less, does a bit of everything, and if you handload, you can do some varmint bustin with the lite weights, traveling about 3000fps from the muzzle. just superfun, and really a kick that a kid can handle. i have actually started seeing this factory loaded again, by I think Winny, and remington/peters? and the rifle, oh let us not forget that, it is proly worth a ton of money if it is in good shape.

My father has a winchester 94 in 25-35 built in 1908 and passed on down to him. It's a cool looking little cartridge, our ammo is probably sixty years old at least.
