I think I would like a 1911 for concealed carry, but I have some particular ideas of what it would look like. In fact, what I have in mind as my ideal 1911 may not even exist, but here goes.

.45
6.75 length or less
4.75 high or less
29 oz. w/mag or less
1.3 wide at slide/grip or less
SAO
at least 7+1 cap
non ambi safety
reliable
And now for the biggie -- $900 or less

Can I find such an animal?

You're looking at 3 inch 1911s, there's a few out there.

In that price range I like the Colt Defender/New Agent.

Thanks. I see you have the New Agent. What are it's advantages over the Defender?

Also, only 6+1. --- :) I will check it out. I'm not really that anal about the specs. I might could even come up with the extra $49.

Taurus PT145

10+1
Weight: 22.2 oz
Barrel Length: 3.25"
Height: 5.125"
Width: 1.25"
Length: 6.125"

it is a SA/DA and a little taller

None really, aside from the lack of sights it's just a different version of the same gun. Boils down to personal preference.
