Done with Rem Thunderbolt. For real this time!

I still have a few bricks of thunderbolt .22lr . Not the best quality for sure. Last month I shot my 10/22 and my Marlin 60 using this stuff. About 2-3 out of every magazine load failed to feed in the Marlin.
The Ruger 10/22 had no issues with feeding, but had the same failure rate with rounds that would not fire. Had 20 or so to "de-construct" at the end of my session.
Will not buy Remington rimfire ammo for awhile :( .

Possibly, or maybe your marlin 60 was just a lot less "finicky" than the Smith and Ruger are.

Valid, and a point that, though wasn't stated in my original post, I am well aware of.

I should have elaborated: Beyond a basic incompatibility between the cartridges I mentioned and the firearms used, Golden Bullet, when it did cycle correctly, had a much higher ignition failure rate than any other brand I've tested.

22s are picky, and the bulk of the ammo produced for them is inexpensive by design. Cheap and fun shouldn't come with the expectation of high reliability... but it can be better than 'crap'.

FURTHER
When I was a kid (another lifetime ago:D) I NEVER had a FTF problem. I never had a .22 round from any brand that was a problem in an old single shot Savage I always used. It was a few years ago that I discovered by myself the "try a different spot on the rim" using the single shot. I firmly believe that the quality of .22 like any other item has gone down the crapper in recent years. That's mostly why I reload everything I can.:fire:
