Don't ever get your handguns stolen

I had three stolen plus one rifle back in July 2003.

The three handguns were all recovered within a few months...the rifle is still out there.

The problem is that some jerk off judge granted bail and two of the three suspects caught with the weapons promptly skipped town.

I am now, a year and a half later, still trying to get the DA to release my weapons.

The sad part of the suspect jumping bail was that he was on parole for murder. Who in their right mind would grant this guy bail?

As a matter of fact all the persons who got caught with my guns were black and all of them were either on parole or probation.

Pathetic. :banghead:

!

Sooo... Let me get thsi straight:

3 bad guys steal guns from you, one rifle never recovered; and 2 of the bad guys- one a murderer- at large?

Sounds liek a 9th Circuit Judge to me!

Since its a rifle, maybe get a vest!

C-

p.s. not saying the'll come specifically for you or anything, just that the facts in the situation show a colossal lack of sense by the judicial system.

Relevance?

That comment is DEFINATELY NOT the High Road.

Please take your attitudes elsewhere.

I agree...that attitude is not welcome on The High Road.

When I was in high school, many years ago, I came home to find that someone had broken into our house, ransacked the place, and emptied the gun cabinet. Back then, our gun cabinet was handmade by my Grandfather out of wood and glass.

The bad guys made out with 21 firearms total. If I remember correctly, we only got back 3 or 4. That's only because the girl that was with these creeps got kicked out of their van and they threw the handgun at her as they drove away.

Krinkov-we need more of a description than their skin color. It's kind of like saying the perps were left handed-about 15% of the population is!

I used no derogatory slurs nor did I mix in any racist commentary. I made a simple statement of fact...they were black.

Maybe those who got offended should take a good hard look at reality instead of looking through life with their politically correct mindset and rose-colored glasses.

Maybe he was trying to point out that there was a liberal judge involved who, according to some people, tend to be more lenient to minorities.

I'll give the benefit of the doubt here, since that was my first impression of what Krinkov meant.

Back on topic, that absolutely sucks having ANYTHING of value stolen. I had a $1200 generator taken from my shed one night (the shed is right next to the house, in an enclosed back yard (6' privacy fence), with me at home)

Talk about feeling violated. ouch.

Harden the "Target"

This is not meant to be taken as an insult to anyone. I don't know how many guns you own or if it would make economic sense in your particular case but have you considered a gun safe? I am not talking about a locking gun case. I am talking about something that would take a torch and a lot of time to get into. If you have a secure gun safe combined with an alarm system your chances of having any guns taken during a burglary are greatly reduced if not eliminated. I have been burglarized without losing a single gun. I think the crooks probably looked at the vaults and decided not to even try them as neither were touched.
I have an aquaintance who has had his guns stolen more times than I can count. He drags them out and shows them to every teenage friend that his sons bring into the house. He just stores them all in a closet.
In my opinion he and people like him only add to the crime problem. Such behavior is irresposible. I also have a neighbor that leaves his garage door open (sometimes even at night) then bitches because things come up missing.
As far as the comment about the crooks being black, I personaly don't think that you meant that as harshly as some seem to view it.
I hope you get your guns back in good shape.

Spot, you're right. I work within the criminal justice system and I see it everyday.

The judicial system has been accused of being too harsh with certain minorities (being vague here so I don't hurt anyone's sensibilities) and so in response they make ridiculous judgements from the bench.

Anyone who is on parole for murder and then gets caught with a stolen firearm should be held without bond.

I may not be the most politically correct person in the world but I call it as I see it..that isn't being racist it's being honest. Some people, on the other hand, sacrifice the truth in order to avoid being incorrect politically speaking.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it's a duck...trying to paint it as anything else is idiotic.

Well Put Sir

The judicial system has been accused of being too harsh with certain minorities (being vague here so I don't hurt anyone's sensibilities) and so in response they make ridiculous judgements from the bench.

I sure as heck can't find dissagreement with that statement :)

I remember when I was a kid, a guy dating my older sister bought a K mart blue steel air powered bb gun (that was a mock of a colt python) that he kept in a gun case above his bed. one night his house gets broken into and ransacked , the only thing stolen. The gun case with the bb gun in it. I tend to hide my weapons rather than just lock them up because of that memory. I also get a laugh thinking what those idiots thought when they found a cheap bb gun in the case after all that. :)

Krinkov...the minority thing in the courts is not well founded at all. You say a judge let them off due to their being black, but the reason why he would do that is because blacks are never "let off"? That's kind of a self defeating argument. Especially if you use the percentages of minority population in prisons in the U.S. to prove your point. I think it has more to do with income, living situations plus opportunity, moral and family obligations and lastly personal beliefs, education and a sense of justice than skin color. Hows that for no rosey colored glasses.

You say one was on parole? Hmmmm.....now that sounds really weird, I know a little somthing about the way parole works and if you are on parole, a transfer of custody to the origionating juridiction is usually in order once the parole officer is forced to "violate" his parole due to an arrest being made. At that time a parole revocation hearing would begin as to wether or not his parole had actually been violated. I haven't yet heard of a parolee making bail....since he never "technically" left state control to begin with.

Somthin' fishy here, but I'm willing to hear the rest.

Actually, what I think is funnier is some guy buying a guncase for a BB gun.

Looks like my yearbook.

The record I see indicates that his parole was up in 2001, correct? He was 10 years in state custody of one form or another. So I guess he wasn't still on "active" parole.

Either way, this felony will land him some good time. You should be glad he skipped bail...he'll eventually be caught, bail revoked...get the max sentence...all that good stuff.

Your analysis is incorrect...

look at Mr. D again and at the bottom of the page where it says Current facility it will have his parole office.

If I made an incorrect assumption, then I apologize. Really. Back to my original question, then: What is the relevance that they are black?

Maybe those who got offended should take a good hard look at reality instead of looking through life with their politically correct mindset and rose-colored glasses.

Ok. What is the reality? Please explain so that I can learn.

I am not here to educate you, nor do I feel compelled to justify my opinions to you.

Right on krinkov, "whats funnier some gun buying a guncase for a bb guy" never gave that much thought before but now LMAO :D

I have never had an accidental triple post happen before.

(I ''tidied up a bit for you!) P95Carry

Golly....You made it sound like 'ol LOY actually murdered someone. Looking at his criminal history, its just a SECOND degree murder. Geez. It was likely just an accident, you get a little drunk, cracked up, somebody tries to steal your dope and while pointing the gun at them, it accidently goes off. Maybe you're just careening down the road at about a .29 and run over some idiot on a bicycle, why in the hell was he riding that bicycle on the sidewalk???? I think you are being a bit harsh on these gentlemen, they are all products of a poor education system, a poor enviroment and a number of other factors that led them to where they are today, stealing your guns so they can sell them and buy baby formula and diapers for their babies. You need to really try and understand. Thank goodness there are judges that can look past all those lies in the criminal history package and look at them as people...with feelings and families. People that care.
