I bought this Doublestar from Budsgunshop this week and finally shot it today. For less than $1200 I am very impressed. I shot it against my new Les Baer, which you would think would be unfair, but the DSC held it's own.
Accuracy was not to the level of my Premier II, but to be fair, the DSC is $500 cheaper too. For example, my Baer was shooting sub 2" groups offhand at 10yds and the DSC was around 2 1/2" on average. Not a big difference at all.
The DSC will need some breaking in, as I had a few FTRB (failure to return to battery), but that is not uncommon for a really tight 1911 in the first few hundred rounds. I only shot 200rds through it today. I'll make up some more and put a couple more hundred through it to let it even out.
Extraction and ejection was flawless, with all brass falling neatly about 10 feet behind and 5 feet to my right. Brass pick up was very easy.
Sights are all black and very easy to align. Mine was dead on at 10yds holding dead center on target. The FSC and grips provided excellent grip and at no time did it twist or rise in my hands, making follow up shots extremely easy to get back on target.
Overall I am very happy with this gun. It was designed as a fighting 1911, and in my opinion, it fits that bill very nicely.
I would compare it to my DW Heritage, but in black, which is what I wanted before I even found this model, so I am very content.
