I'm in the process of negotiationg with my wife to trade my 10/22 for her Savage MK II. She's been interested in my 10/22 (because it's a semi-auto) since I picked it up and I'm really considering the trade. It's got dovetail scope mounts and I want to get a scope and rings that will perform for 75-150 yards at the local prairie dog town...I'm also a frugal type and shoot Federal Bulk 550 packs for (85% of my shooting). Can you put those two factors together and recomend me a scope & mounts that will allow me to hit a P-Dog at 75-150 yds as cheap as possible? Am I asking too much?

For PD's at that distance you'll want something in the 6.5X20X range.
The best bet addressing your criteria would be a Simmons Whitetail Classic
6.5X20X50.

Pros: Clear, bright, repeatable and a bargain @ right around $100.00-110.00
Cons: Big bell (50) = higher rings
Thick reticle, no target dot
