DPMS or Del-Ton

So I've been looking at buying an AR. I've narrowed it down to the DPMS Lite 16 A3 and the Del-Ton Echo 316. Anyone know anything about either? CONS PROS? Any other suggestions? I plan on building one shortly but just want good home defense rifle to go along with my shotgun. I will be changing out the stock and grip. I'll be adding back up sights and some sort of red dot. I wont be doing much of anything else. Any information on the above rifles would be great. Any other recommended rifles should be very reasonably priced. Many thanks in advance.

You can put together a superior rifle (compared to either of the 2 mentioned) from Palmetto State Armory for around $600 if you buy parts on sale. I'm not going to go into why its superior here, a simple online search on that subject will reveal all the info a person could ever want.
