It had been a few years since I shot revolver. For Christmas my wife bought me a S&W 340PD. Took it to the range and I had forgotten how great it was to shoot a wheel gun. A few days after Christmas my wife said she wanted a gun to go to the range with me and to use for a house gun. I found a very nice 1972 S&W M67 38 Spcl. I took her to the range and fired a few cylinders from that. Man it was nice. I had gotten so hung up on autos I forgot just how nice a wheel gun is.

Your not alone with new found love for the revolver!! I've had my share of auto pistols but I have always liked shooting my K frame Smiths...

brass pukers are fun, but there is something elegant and elemental about a revolver. There are a lot of people out there who have never fired a revolver, having grown up with only pistols.
What a shame.

Auto shotguns/Doubles, Black Rifles/Double Rifles, etc. Our hobby has plenty of room for exploration and open minds.

I guess I was spoiled, the first two handguns i've ever shot we're in order single six and colt python. After years of shooting autos and never quite being satisfied i'm starting to realise why!!

The M67 I bought my wife shoots incredibly well.

Merry Christmas and welcome back. :)

I too found my way back to revolvers after years of only "self shuckers". Now I carry a pair of revolvers off duty and in no way feel under armed. The tactics are a little different, due to ammo capacity, but the name of the game is still, "staying alive".

Good man! However, you cannot expect those who still wander in darkness to understand. :)

Modern combat guns have their place, but sporting weapons have a glamour of their own that most of us can get more honest use and enjoyment out of than the former.

Modern combat guns have their place

Yeah, like my M&P340 j-frame! ;) It's place is right in my pocket!!

I find "wheelguns" to be fine modern combat guns! I know what ya mean, though - just kidding around...

I often toy with the idea of shooting bottom feeders. I have borrowed Glocks, XDs, CZs, Hi-Powers, 1911's, 2011's, T/C's, and Berettas. The only ones of the bunch that I would actually buy myself (if price wasn't an object) would be the 2011 or a T/C...but I am thinking of getting a T/C.

In the end, I always go back to my 686. Then I remember why I like wheelguns.

I don't even own a semi anymore. Revolvers in general are more reliable, more accurate, chamber more powerful rounds, are ammo insensitive, and much better for the handloader. Semi's only excel in spray&pray combat situations which largely occur in video arcades and pistol matches, but almost never in real life.

I went back to revolvers too. I just sold my 10mm and got a .357 mag. I reload and I was getting tired of tracking down the brass. I also wanted a hand gun I could go hunting with.

yes, yes, yes, the revolver is so sweet. I have removed all semis from my ccw and carry nothing but colt and s&w!

Cut my teeth on the 1911s. Some of those and a couple of BHPs are the only semiautos allowed on the place. I have more single actions than semiautos, and more DA revolvers than either. And most of them are .38/.357s.

I leave the current offerings to those what likes 'em.
