It really sounds as though you are a promoter of the nanny state and would wish to delve into peoples day to day lives and decide what is best for them and society.
I don't know where you get that idea, but as Harry Callahan said, "A man's got to know his limitations."

But will they have the financial capacity to be responsible for their actions (see post 248). It's fine to say that one would be responsible for his actions, but if the potential harm he could cause exceeds his capacity to offer compensation, isn't the only thing left to do everything possible to avoid a situation in which he could cause that harm?

You've brought this up before, and had your answer handed to you. Which of us can do this sober? Who would want to? ANY time ANYONE picks up a weapon to defend their life, they run the risk of such harms, and bears the responsibility to account for them as best as they are able.

An elevated BAC is only one factor in the complex equasion of decision and action surrounding a self-defense encounter. But it is NOT one that is so compelling that I give up my right to act to preserve my life when I touch that bottle.

He, great sage philosopher as he may have been , did NOT say, "The State has to dicatate a man's limitations."

fiddletown, my point is exactly what you said. A man has to know his limitations, in addition to that he must be responsible for his actions.
I wish to have VT./AK. style carry across the country without the hodgepodge of regulations that cause good people to become criminals.

Yes, it's only one factor, but it's entirely within your control. You may avoid it if you are wise enough to choose to do so.

You may wish to your heart's content, but the political reality of our world is that your chances of seeing it are vanishingly small.

You seem to state that with some glee. Perhaps it is reading your previous posts that give me that feeling, do you really have a CCP or believe it should be allowed?

Whether or not you can handle your liquor and a gun is beside the point. So far as I know, carrying a gun while drinking is prohibited in many places. THR cannot condone or allow discussions that involve violating the law.
