According to UPS my 58 Remington should be here tommorrow. I have dry felt wads and a tube of Bore Butter. Can I just load powder, then a dry wad, then seat the ball, and top off cylinder with crisco or bore butter. I've read the post on making the lube with beeswax, parrafin, & mutton tallow and melting it to saturate the wads. I know that is probably a better way, but for now I just want to get shooting. Will what I proposed work OK or do I need to try and catch a sheep?

You`ve got the right equipment ! the bore butter will get a little expencive compaired to a tub of crisco .. and the crisco works just as well .. only the bore butter smells like Hawian tanning lotion ..lol top your powder off with dry wads and use the crisco or bore butter over at least the first 2 holes to be shot and stuff all you can in the cylinder pin hole and or on the pin .. this will keep things lubed up for ya ... these pistols are real tight new .. after 100 rounds or so you see things smooth out real nice . you might want to take a wooden dowel rod or something to help remove the cylinder pin its tough when they are new , it too will loosen up in time . have a ball and let us know how it goes .. happy shooting .:D
