has anybody tried the DSA zm4 AR uppers? they have a fluted mid-length that looks neat. also, how does teh weight compare to a regular m4 barrel profile?

There is a brief discussion about them, with a link to 50+ pages of arfcom whining... I slogged through it; upshot is that it seems they are a pretty good bang for the buck, and if it has issues they will exchange it. (That is the 54 pages condensed into one sentence).

My nitride carbine length has been on order for approximately 4 weeks now. Based on the other thread it sounds like 6 is about expected on the one I ordered. I got it as a cheap way to make my spare parts pile functional, the price is right, and I like everything else I've ever bought from DSA. I'm expecting it to make a decent beater.

For the money they are good, if you are expecting Noveske or LWRC fit and finish you will be disapointed.

If function is more important and your trying to build a cheap AR you will be happy with it.
