Need some feedback guys. There is a Del-Ton Ar-15 at a local gun store that I've been eyeballing. Problem is, I have no experience with these types of rifles. It's 750.00 NIB with carry case, easy load mag, cleaning kit, popup sights. Question is, Is this a weapon that I can run alot of rounds through and it still be dependable? I want something that isn't going to break all of the time(preferably never). Any feedback from owners or members that have experience with this rifle would be appreciated. Thanks!

i own a CMMG M4 but i'm looking at del-ton as my next AR seller, i have seen no comments about a bad delton rifle, as far as i know they get their stuff from DPMS or some of the stuff, eather way both are good, and gun good, if you do a search here, all you'll find are good comments about them.

ETA: if you want the same rifle but cheaper look here:

Thanks guys! I've been looking around a bunch of sites and haven't seen anything bad about them. But I haven't seen a full blown discussion on them either. :scrutiny: Guess I'll pick it up tommorrow. :D I sure would have liked to walk out of the store with the .50 cal sniper rifle that was there, but at that price(9,000.00) plus the cost of the resulting divorce, I walked away. :( Any additional feedback appreciated.

Scope?

Ok, Got the rifle. Now I need opinions on a scope. I've been more of a pistol person, so I don't know much about scopes. I'm not looking to break the bank, just something to get me started at around 300 yards. Thanks again everyone!!!

I apparently seem to be the only one who has had problems with DTI's upper. I'll let you read the other thread for details.

AR15.com Thread

Anyways, its back at the company now for repairs. I've got a feeling the chrome is too thick causing a tight chamber but I should know for sure next week.

Don't let me scare you off though. As I said, I appear to be the oddball in the group.

I have built 3.5 AR's with Del-Ton kits. The quality is top notch, and the rifles I have examined are the same. They are priced right too.

I apologize in advance for the blasphemy of dropping a competing forum's name, but ar15.com has numerous write ups about Del-Ton. I have a Del-Ton carbine and I love it. I've got maybe $700 in it total and I got far more for $700 from Del-Ton than I would have gotten for $700 with Bushmaster for sure.

Plus, I am shooting 2" groups at 100 yards using a 5MOA red dot sight. ;)

If you are shooting out to 300 yds, a 4.5-24, or 5.5-16 Nikon would fit the bill nicely.

I have an eotech 512 red dot on mine, and it shoots very well to 200 yds with no magnification.

How accurate does it have to be, are you target shooting, varmint/predator hunting, plinking??

Don't let me detract from DTI. They turned my upper around in a day. There was a problem with the bolt which they replaced and shipped it back the next day. The customer service is great and I'd do business with them again.
