Duplicating 168gr 308 Black Hills Match Ammo

41.5 grains IMR 4895 with a Sierra 168 Matchking in a Lake City Match case, and any standard large primer is what my rifle team always used to "duplicate" the M852 load.

I always assumed Black Hills was trying to duplicate M852 with their load.
 
Wow, I'd thought this thread had died. A friend took the gun and loaded up some shells to maximum length for the chamber. But the one thing he did find was that several screws were a tad loose holding the scope on. We now think (Hope!) the scope was shifting around. I had been more worried about the knobs that hold the mount to the gun working loose, as they have a tendency to do that on my other AR-15s. I guess the extra bang from the 308 loosened those screws up. But do to scheduling conflicts, crappy weather and what not, I have been unable to test the gun.
 
I just opened a can of Varget for the first time and the powder from the BHM 175 does appear to be Varget. The pic I posted seems to be a bit dark on here. The powder does have a silver/gold tint.
