Yep, bolt action. cheap,accurate, durable, and accurate. Mosin, SMLE, M48 fit the bill. Want a semiauto? A Saiga or any AR is hard to beat. Any military design will fill your needs.

My Oberndorf made Swedish m/96 rifle was made in 1900, so it is now 114 years old. It still works just fine and I win the occasional rifle match with it.
My 1892 Winchester was actually made in late 1892 so it is only 122 years old. It finally needed a little work last year since the sear was partially worn.

Savage Hog hunter. Comes with a "throwaway" stock but the medium barrel and iron sights are nearly bullet-proof. I wouldn't worry about keeping this gun in a toolbox or behind my truck seats.
