I have one of these Tapco stocks on my yugo sks. I'TS AMAZING. I can't understand how a simple stock swap can make the rifle feel totally different. It now handles like an AR with a 20" HBAR. I could not be any happier with mine and it is worth every penny.:) :D

Tapco stocks

I'm not familiar with these stocks: did you have to move the trigger forward ... [editted out personal confusion...see below]?

Sorry, my bad. Had a brain freeze and confused Saigas with pistol grips and SKSs with pistol grips... nevermind.

Do they make that stock in Coyote/tan?

Im thinking of doing the same thing, as its Kali legal and pretty mean looking. I was also thinking of doing the techsights rear aperature, with a red dot replacing the existing rear ramp sight, but I havent seen that done as of yet.

I think I might want to pick up a stock and some Dura Coat for mine. I have the web page of a smith that does trigger jobs, add a peep sight and maybe a red dot.

Did you apply the Dura Coat yourself?

How do you like the stock?
Yes, but you have to follow the prep instructions to the letter. This rifle has been riding for about 6 months in the back of my Cherokee during the hottest, most humid summer we've had in about 10 years(global warming, I guess:rolleyes: ). No rust.

Stock is very nice, like Jackal said, makes it feel totally different. Mine came all black. I painted the body and handguard with 4 coats of Krylon OD and kept the pistol grip and buttstock black.

Hmm.. I been thinking of bubba'izing my SKS with that stock. But then you gotta part the 10 parts game. IIRC, the entails replacing the fixed mag with a US made one. I hear those arent too reliable.

I'm pretty sure that the Tapco sks stock has enough US made parts to keep the BATF happy. Here are a few pics of my Unissued Yugo.

I forgot about the 10 part rule. Is it illegal to just change the stock out, or do I have to play the 10 part game? I don't know if it's any different but I live in CA. If I'm assuming I need to play the 10 parts game, if I change the stock out, the operating rod, and the gas piston, is that enough for the 922(r)?

To Jackal, the stock consists of 3 U.S. made parts as listed on their website.

Thanks in advance,

Matt.
