Hi there
I have recently swapped a weatherby vanguard for a Remington 700 25-06 and was wondering if anyone could help me with its approximate age and value and what model it is?
Serial no: 64395xx
It also has stamped on the barrel below the company and place of manufacture a 21 digit patent no.
The stock is montecarlo style and has a black tipped forend and ornate style checkering - not cut checkering. The rifle is in very good order. Bolt is jeweled with limited wear and the bluing is excellent apart from the last few inches of the barrel which has some wear - from storage. Wood work is very good for age and very dark walnut. The finsh - varnish? is aged. Bore would be around 90%. Excellent rifling and no throat erosion. A tiny amount of pitting evident if you look really hard. It is a beautiful rifle. Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks
