Hello,

I recently acquired an early J 22xxx serial number Model 10 and and wanting to find some information on it. It has a full choke 24 inch barrel. I've tried calling Remington for information but it appears they are closed so that's a dead end.

Would anyone be able to assist me or at least point me in the right direction? Anything I need to know about this old gun before I shoot it?

Thanks so much!

I've owned quite a few early Remingtons and a full choke in a 24" barrel ? Have you measured the choke with a dial indicator ? I'm not a fan of the model 10. Model 11 - yes. Go here to ask your question

I put a lot of ducks on the supper table with a Model 10. They are a good shotgun. That said they are a bitch to work on. For cleaning I would just take the wood off and spray it down then blow it out. Now I have had a few taken down over the years, but it just is not enjoyable. It is doable. Check yours for chamber length before shooting. I don't recall if they made them in 3 inch. I know I always shot 2&3/4 " from mine.
