Easiest Semi-Auto to Field Strip? - HD VIDEO

The 1911 is "easy" once you know what you are doing, but ... it is clearly not as easy to field strip as modern handguns.

I think it's more fun though!

that is a cool vid, featuring some very chubby hands!

The polka music was perfect! Nice touch.

Easier is subjective. I'll bet I can field strip and reassemble my Glock faster. Last time I timed myself it was about 10-11 sec. That's with a look down the barrel for obstructions! I had to field strip and check the barrel for a squib round during a match and only finished 8 seconds back from those that I usually run with.

Having to push that button on the 92 to get the barrel out is an extra step too.

The FNH Five Seven pistol is extremely easy to take down. Don't even have to worry about a recoil spring since it is part of the barrel assembly. Putting it back together is even MORE simple [just like with a Glock].

The only pistol I have ever encountered, other than Ring of Fire pistols that require a punch, that was difficult to take down was the Croatian PHP, and that was because the barrel had to come out in just exactly the right way.

Otherwise, they all take down easy. I like CZ's take down method, if only because it does not add any parts like SIG, Beretta, or Walthers do.

My Tanfoglio .25 is..stupid easy.
Safety on>Pull back slide>lift up slide
and that's it.

When I originally chose XDm over XD/Glock, it was because I didn't have to pull the trigger prior to break down. I considered it a safety risk. Slight risk, but a risk nonetheless.
Yes, it's a slight risk. But I think it's a much bigger risk to unwittingly field strip a loaded gun.
At least with the Glock, the hole will be in the floor. :)

Honestly, I don't see any issue field stripping even my Ruger MKIII or my friend's 1911. And those are the hardest to field strip handguns I've come across. Now when it comes to detail stripping, I haven't seen any other gun that comes close to touching a Glock.

I can field strip my 92FS one-handed.

Getting it back together requires 2 hands.
I can detail strip and reassemble my Glock with one hand and a surface to work on. Well, all except for getting the captive spring off the striker and removing the takedown lever (actually, I've never removed the takedown lever. Dunno how to do that, to be honest).

Sure, and we all know how Hollywood provides us excellent firearm training

Thanks, bro. Good stuff.

:neener:

I'm looking forward to putting a SIG 226 through its paces.
you will surprised! :) my brother in law does comp shooting with his and put tens of thousands of round thru one p226. never had a issue besides normal maintence. you get what you pay for. i cant decide what model 226 to get. enhanced elite or the extreme. the ergo's on that pistol are perfect. its like pointing a finger. it put my hp, bdm ans baretta to shame.

I bought my son an "Elite" 226 for his 18th birthday, he had some problems with steel cased ammo, but can shoot any brass ammo without a hitch!

Gloob, I never thought of it like that. Good point. Of course, for me it wouldn't be the floor, but the back window. I'd rather not shoot the people in the condo below me, but I'm fine shooting intot he woods behind me ;)

Of course now I'm looking at different features than just that (such as what ambi controls are available, since I switched to LH) and I'm still waiting for something that is exactly what I'm looking for to come on the civilian market.
